Melilla distributes 172,752 euros among non-profit social entities

The Ministry of Social Policies and Public Health of the Autonomous City of Melilla has published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6412, dated September 8, 2026, the proposed provisional resolution for the call for competitive grants destined for non-profit entities for the year 2026. The document, signed by the general administration technician Ahlam Chanfouh Aouragh, distributes a total of 172,752 euros between activity projects and the maintenance of social headquarters, and opens a period of ten business days for entities to submit allegations.

The proposal is processed through file no. 4898/2026 and stems from Order no. 2026000623, dated March 9, 2026, published in BOME no. 6361 on March 13, which approved the call, whose regulatory bases were published in BOME no. 5490 on October 27, 2017. The definitive list of admitted and excluded entities was published in BOME no. 6380, dated May 19, 2026.

Distribution of Aid

The aid is financed through budget allocation 05/23102/48000 (RC Grants no. 12026000006450, dated February 9, 2026), for a total amount of 224,302.35 euros, with a maximum of 17,000 euros per entity. The allocation combines the priority or positive nature of each program with the score obtained in the evaluation criteria, excluding projects that do not reach 4.5 points.

• 113,771.00 euros are allocated to the financing of activity projects (Annex I, Table A).
• 58,981.00 euros are allocated to the maintenance of social headquarters (Annex III).
• The remaining applications are denied for the reasons listed in Annex IV.

Beneficiary Entities for Projects

Among the associations proposed to finance their activity programs are the Fut Tabel Insertion Association (11,900 €), the Virgen de la Luz Charity Association (14,500 €), the Proyecto Alfa Association (14,420 €), the Feafes Melilla Mental Health Association (12,868 €), the Techo es un Derecho Platform (11,900 €), the Fiet Gratia Development NGO (11,900 €), the Marcelino Champagnat Foundation (11,630 €), the Cuenta con Nosotros Melilla Association (9,000 €), the Tutelar and Social Action Association of Melilla (8,197 €), AMLEGA (4,340 €), and the Huellas de la Solidaridad Association (3,116 €).

Maintenance of Headquarters and Exclusions

For the maintenance of social headquarters, grants are proposed for the Alzheimer’s Family Association (€17,000), the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Spain (€16,091), the Melilla Acoge Association (€8,970), the MPDL Movement for Peace, Disarmament and Liberty (€7,000), the Elderly Care Volunteerism (€4,300), the Spanish Red Cross (€3,000), and the Melilla Autism Association (€2,620). In parallel, entities such as Vidas Felinas Melilla, the Freyja Association, the Melilla Equestrian Federation, the Melilla Food Bank, Doctors of the World, Projectarte, or the Melilla Urban Freestyle Association are excluded from the proposal for reasons ranging from insufficient scoring to the existence of public or private coverage of the activities.

Deadlines and Procedure

Entities benefiting from projects will have ten business days from the day following publication to accept or waive the grant and, if applicable, reformulate the project and its budget when the proposed amount is lower than requested. All participating entities may file any claims they deem appropriate within the same period, in accordance with article 24.4 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003. The provisional proposal does not generate any right until the final award resolution is notified.

The provisional resolution represents a decisive step for the associative fabric of Melilla, which will see funding for inclusion, mental health, elderly care, childhood, and vulnerable groups programs, as well as the maintenance of its headquarters, in an exercise where the call mobilizes more than 224,000 euros in public funds.
