Melilla propone 528 ayudas para el carné de conducir clase B

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Autonomous City of Melilla has published the provisional list for the grant call to obtain a Class B driver’s license aimed at young people, with proposed grants for 528 applications and amounts of up to 500 euros per beneficiary. The announcement, identified as BOME-A-2026-1239, appears in the Official Gazette of the City of Melilla number 6429, dated November 6, 2026, and opens a ten-day period for appeals.

A process initiated in June

The call stems from the regulatory bases approved by Agreement of the Governing Council on May 15, 2026, published in BOME number 6382, dated May 26, 2026, and from Order 2026001062, dated June 11, 2026, by the Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, which approved the call under a direct grant regime in non-competitive concurrence (Extraordinary BOME number 25, dated June 17, 2026).

The file already accumulates several publications: a request for correction (BOME number 6418, dated September 29, 2026) and its subsequent rectification of errors (BOME number 6420, dated October 6, 2026). Now, the Director General of Education, Germán Ortiz Sánchez, signs the provisional proposal in Melilla on November 5, 2026, following a report from the instructing body on November 3 and an evaluation by the collegiate body on November 4.

528 proposed grants and 192 denials

The list is organized into two blocks, each containing the applicant’s DNI or NIE and the file number, all with the code CLASEB:

  • 528 applications with a proposal for the granting of the aid, with individual amounts that mostly hover around 287 euros—the most repeated amount—and which in more than fifty cases reach the cap of 500 euros.
  • 192 applications with a proposal for denial, identified by the applicable reason number.

The lowest file number on the granted list is 546/2026/CLASEB and the highest is 1270/2026/CLASEB; among the denied ones are, for example, 554/2026/CLASEB and 1272/2026/CLASEB.

Age, residency, and being up to date

The nine applied reasons for denial outline the requirements for the aid:

  • Not being up to date with the Tax Agency, Social Security, or the Autonomous City of Melilla.
  • Failing to correct the required documentation within the deadline.
  • Submitting the application after the deadline.
  • Failing to prove at least one year of seniority in the municipal register (padrón) of Melilla.
  • Being under 18 or over 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Having previously been a beneficiary of this same grant.
  • Failing to provide bank certification of ownership for the payment details.
  • Presenting expenses outside the eligible period.
  • Exhaustion of the available credit in the call based on the order of application entry.

Ten days for allegations

Notification is carried out by publication in the BOME, in accordance with articles 40 and 42 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, and interested parties have ten days to submit allegations. If none are submitted, the provisional proposal will become final.

The text recalls that an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the act within one month before the department itself or before the president of the Autonomous City, with a maximum period of three months to resolve it; if this time passes without a resolution, it will be understood as dismissed.

Also published in the same issue of the bulletin is the rectification of errors in the provisional list of the parallel call for professional permits (classes C, C+E, and D), referring to BOME number 6427, of October 30, 2026.

The list arrives as families in Melilla face the cost of driving schools, which rarely falls below five hundred euros: the subsidy covers up to 500 euros per applicant, so thousands of households with children of driving age have here the official reference to check if their application is moving forward or has been left out of the available credit.
