Melilla convoca el primer examen para cuatro plazas de arquitecto

The Selection Board appointed for the permanent filling of four Architect positions has set the location, date, and time for the first exercise of the selection process. In a session held on September 2, 2026, the body agreed that the call for applicants will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 6:15 p.m., in the Plenary Hall of the Assembly Palace, located at Plaza de España no. 1, first floor. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6412, dated September 8, 2026, page 4641, with reference BOME-A-2026-1008.

A competitive examination process

The announced positions correspond to civil service personnel of the Special Administration Scale, Technical Subscale, and will be filled through an open competitive procedure. The selection process will be carried out via a competitive examination (concurso-oposición) system and will consist of two phases: the examination phase, which will be held first and whose exercises will be eliminatory, and a subsequent selection course.

The call for these positions was published in BOME no. 6356, dated February 24, 2026. Pursuant to the tenth clause, the applicable regulations shall be those in force on the date of the publication of the call in the gazette.

The first exercise: an 80-question test

The first exercise, which is mandatory and eliminatory for all applicants, will consist of a multiple-choice questionnaire consisting of 80 questions, plus 5 reserve questions for possible annulments. Each question will have multiple-choice answers with three alternatives, of which only one will be correct, and will cover the topics included in the program (General and Specific Parts). A maximum of 90 minutes will be available for its completion.

  • Each question will have a value of 0.125 points.
  • Blank questions will not be penalized.
  • Errors will be penalized according to the formula A - (E/(n-1)), where “A” is the number of correct answers, “E” is the number of errors, and “n” is the number of alternatives.
  • The grading will be from 0 to 10 points, with a minimum of 5 points required to proceed to the second exercise.

Indicative timeline of the examination phase

In order to facilitate the monitoring and planning of the process, the Selection Board has made public an indicative time forecast for the development of the examination phase:

  • Second exercise: from November 2 to 6, 2026.
  • Third exercise: from November 19 to 25, 2026.

The court expressly warns that this schedule is for guidance purposes and constitutes a mere planning forecast; therefore, the dates are not binding and may be modified by agreement of the body when organizational, technical, or material circumstances so advise. Prior to the holding of the first exercise, an informative note containing the rules and instructions to be followed on the day of the exam will be published on the website and in the Notice Board of the Autonomous City of Melilla.

The publication of this announcement responds to the principles of publicity and transparency and aims to facilitate the applicants’ adequate planning of the different phases of the selection procedure. For architects aspiring to a civil service position in Melilla, this first exercise marks the start of an eliminatory process that will extend throughout the autumn and culminate with the permanent filling of the four offered positions.
