Melilla announces 900 places for leisure-cultural trips to Cádiz for seniors
Por FactBox Admin

The Autonomous City of Melilla has announced 900 places for Leisure-Cultural Trips for elderly people, distributed across four shifts of 225 people destined for Cádiz and its province. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6419, dated October 2, 2026, through the summary BOME-A-2026-1106 and Resolution No. 0939, dated September 28, 2026 (BOME-A-2026-1107). Interested parties have 10 business days from the day following publication to submit their application.
The call is approved under a competitive bidding process and is governed by the Regulatory Bases applicable to the Trips for Seniors Programs of the Autonomous City of Melilla, published in the extraordinary BOME no. 7, dated February 12, 2025. The summary is signed by counselor Fadela Mohatar Maanan on September 30, 2026, while the resolution corresponds to the Department of Culture, Cultural Heritage, and the Elderly, which processes the program as a subsidy under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, with BDNS identification 932438.
The stated purpose is to promote the well-being and quality of life of elderly people through recreational and cultural activities, favoring social integration and active aging for seniors residing in the city.

Deadlines, scoring scale, and submission
Applications are submitted using the official form at the Elderly Area (Área del Mayor) and at the Citizen Service Offices (OIACs), or through any of the channels specified in article 16 of Law 39/2015. The scoring scale awards up to 40 points for age, up to 40 for income, and up to 20 for participation in previous calls, with preference given to those who have not participated in previous editions. A reserve list is planned for those who exceed the income threshold.
Once the final list is published, beneficiaries will have 10 days to choose a turn and submit proof of payment to Banco Santander (ES68 0049 2506 1428 1418 0049). Subsequent withdrawal implies the loss of the amount paid unless there is a justified cause. An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the call before the President of the City within one month.
The call arrives with a tight schedule: barely 10 business days to apply and an offer of 900 places that will be distributed by scoring among the elderly registered in Melilla; therefore, registration seniority, age, and income will be determining factors in accessing one of the four turns.
