Melide delega na tenente de alcalde dous matrimonios civís

The Melide City Council has delegated to the third deputy mayor, Carmen María L. S., the authority to perform two civil marriages that will take place on the coming September 12, 2026. The decision was adopted through resolution 564/2026, dated September 7, signed by Mayor José Manuel Pérez Penas, and was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña, number 174, on September 11, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5872.

The delegation responds to an administrative procedure of local interest that allows the deputy mayor to exercise the municipal authority in the celebration of the unions, instead of the mayor himself. The resolution is based on the powers granted by article 23.4 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of the Local Regime; article 61.3 of Law 5/97, on Local Administration of Galicia; and articles 43.3 and 44 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, together with the corresponding regulations.

The two planned unions

The marriages will be celebrated on the same day at different times, each corresponding to a file processed by the council:

  • 11:00 hours: union between Ms. Y.S.G. and Mr. D.V.L., file 2026/R001/000010, submitted on 07/30/2026 with entry registry 202600000003416.
  • 12:00 hours: union between Ms. E.L.V. and Mr. A.M.T., file 2026/R001/000011, submitted on 08/28/2026 with entry registry 202600000003693.

Processing and publication

The resolution establishes that the delegation be notified to the third deputy mayor in whose favor it is carried out, and that it be published in the Official Gazette of the Province. The document, signed in Melide on Monday, September 7, 2026, closes with the signature of Mayor José Manuel Pérez Penas.

The publication in the official gazette provides publicity to the administrative act and guarantees its effectiveness, in accordance with the applicable local regime regulations.

Relevance for the residents

This delegation is an example of the ordinary management of local administration, which allows for the streamlining of procedures such as the celebration of civil marriages without the need for the mayor to intervene directly. For the residents of Melide, it means that the unions scheduled for September 12 will proceed normally, with the deputy mayor as the competent authority to preside over the ceremonies.
