Melgar de Fernamental approves road repairs with 26,949 euros

The City Council of Melgar de Fernamental has approved the valued report for the works of “Road Repair – Cohesion Fund 2026,” with a total budget, VAT included, of 26,949.12 euros. The decision was adopted via Mayoral Decree No. 164/2026, dated September 16, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos No. 186, dated September 30, 2026, with C.V.E. BOPBUR-2026-04025. The file is now open for public exhibition so that any interested party may submit allegations within fifteen business days.

The announcement is included in section III, Local Administration, of the provincial gazette, under the heading of the City Council of Melgar de Fernamental. The text was signed in the town on September 16, 2026, by the mayor, Raúl Guantes Callejas, and does not detail the list of affected roads or the execution schedule, data which must be consulted in the report deposited for the residents’ availability.

An investment of 26,949.12 euros

The valued report sets the tender amount for the works at 26,949.12 euros, an amount that includes Value Added Tax. The approved document is titled “Road Repair – Cohesion Fund 2026” and refers to actions within the municipal district of Melgar de Fernamental.

The framework of the Cohesion Fund

The action falls under the Cohesion Fund line, a financing instrument for municipal investments. In parallel, the Provincial Council of Burgos published on September 17, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Province No. 177, the early call for grants from the 2026 Territorial Cohesion Fund for execution in the 2027 financial year, intended for municipalities in the province with a population equal to or less than 1,000 inhabitants.

That call, approved by the Governing Board of the Most Excellent Provincial Council of Burgos on August 28, 2026, provides for a programmed initial investment of 2,644,824.76 euros, with a maximum regional contribution of 50% from the Junta de Castilla y León, a minimum of 25% borne by the beneficiary city councils, and the remainder borne by the Provincial Council. The regulatory bases are Order PRE/804/2022, of June 30, published in BOCYL no. 129, of July 6, 2022.

The approval of the report is the first administrative step before the contracting of the works. The residents of Melgar de Fernamental thus have a fixed period to review the project, learn the scope of the planned repairs and, if applicable, correct or challenge aspects of the document before the action is definitively approved and put out to tender.
