Medina de Pomar approves new rates for its sports facilities

The City Council of Medina de Pomar has definitively approved the modification of the fiscal ordinance regulating the sports facilities fee, which updates the rates for municipal swimming pools and the gym and introduces discounts for large families, retirees, and people with disabilities. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, number 176, dated September 16, 2026, with reference BOPBUR-2026-03814.

The process began in the municipal Plenary, which, in an ordinary session on December 16, 2024, agreed to the initial approval of the modification. The file was subject to public consultation for thirty days from its initial publication in the gazette on January 7, 2025 and, as no objections were presented, the agreement was considered definitively approved. The document is signed by the mayor-president, Isaac Angulo Gutiérrez, on September 3, 2026.

New summer pool rates

The ordinance sets the daily ticket price at 2 euros for children aged 4 to 17 and 3 euros for those 18 and over. For the full-summer pass, differentiated prices are established by modality:

Adult: 45 euros; child only: 35 euros.
Family unit: 45 euros with one parent and 70 with two; 10 euros for each child aged 4 to 17.
Monthly pass: adult 35, child only 25, family unit 50 euros; 5 euros for each child.
15-visit pass: 35 euros.

Heated pool and gym rates

For the pool-gym complex, monthly and annual fees are distinguished according to the service contracted. For the gym, the general individual fee for those over 17 is 25 euros per month and 250 per year; for the pool, 30 and 300 euros respectively. Combined gym and pool fees reach 40 euros per month and 400 per year for the general user.

Passes and complementary services are also regulated:

12-session pass: 40 euros; children’s pass (4 to 17 years): 25 euros.
Registration: 25 euros; daily entry adult 5 euros and child 3 euros.
Swimming courses: quarterly 90 euros, intensive summer 90, personalized 20-30 euros per hour.
Personal training in the gym: 25 euros per hour per person.

Discounts and conditions of use

The ordinance provides for social discounts on the rates:

25% discount for large families and retirees (over 65 years old).
50% discount for people with a disability equal to or greater than 33%.
Only one of the discounts will be applied, as they are not cumulative.
In the case of a single-parent family unit, it must be proven that the child is their dependent.

Management rules are added: gym access will be from age 14; annual fees begin on the first day of the month in which they are paid; split four-month payments via direct debit are permitted; and members who rejoin within a maximum of six months will not have to pay the registration fee again. The loss of the card requires a payment of 5 euros.

Relevance for users

The update affects all users of the municipal sports services of Medina de Pomar, who will see the rates for summer pools, the heated pool, and the gym unified and updated, with a reinforcement of social discounts. An administrative appeal against the agreement may be filed before the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León within two months from the publication of the announcement.
