Meadowbank Asset Management struck off the companies register after liquidation
Por FactBox Admin

The Registrar of Companies has moved to strike Meadowbank Asset Management (Guyana) Inc. from the Register of Companies, the liquidation of the company having been completed under liquidator Harryram Parmesar. The removal is announced in Government Notice No. 3196, published in the Official Gazette of Guyana No. 399/2026 of Saturday 17 October 2026, in the Companies section of the First Supplement at page 4127.
The notice is issued under section 404 of the Companies Act, 1991 (Chapter 89:01), the provision governing the removal of defunct companies from the statutory register once winding-up is complete. It appears under the standing heading “Companies Act 89:01 — Removal from Register”, the standard channel through which the Registrar publishes strike-offs. The entry is deliberately formulaic: a company number, a company name, and a request from the liquidator, with no statement of assets, liabilities or distributions.
What the notice records
- Company number: 9205
- Company name: Meadowbank Asset Management (Guyana) Inc.
- Status recorded: liquidated
- Liquidator: Harryram Parmesar
- Request made: that the company be struck off the Register of Companies
- Publication: Government Notice No. 3196, Official Gazette No. 399/2026, 17 October 2026, First Supplement, p. 4127
- Date carried by the notice: September 2026
The wording states that the company “has been liquidated” and that the liquidator “has requested that the said companies be struck-off the Register of Companies according to the act.” The gazette text does not disclose when the liquidation concluded, who the shareholders or directors were, or what, if anything, was distributed to creditors.
A familiar name in the same issue
The same Companies section carries a second and entirely separate notice, No. 3197, recording the voluntary winding-up of H & F Inc. and the appointment of Mr. Harryram Parmesar, of Lot 1 Delph Street & Durey Lane, Campbellville, Georgetown, as liquidator with effect from 18 September 2026. That resolution was passed at a special meeting of the company held on the same date, with remuneration set at the standard rate decided by the liquidator.
The two notices are unconnected in substance, but their proximity confirms that the liquidator named in the Meadowbank entry is active in the same publication cycle. Nothing in the gazette links the affairs of the two companies.
What it means for creditors, clients and investors
Striking off is the final administrative step in the life of a Guyanese company: once the entry is made, the company ceases to exist as a registered entity and can no longer hold assets, contract or be sued in its corporate name. For anyone still holding a claim against Meadowbank Asset Management (Guyana) Inc., the practical consequence is that recovery must be pursued against whatever the liquidation process left in place, not against the company itself.
The notice sets no period for objections, claims or enquiries, and it names no contact address for the liquidator beyond the standard register entry. Parties with an outstanding interest should therefore treat the publication date as the operative marker and act on the record as it stands.
The wider register
The Companies pages of the 17 October issue are otherwise routine, but they show the register being actively pruned: one removal from the register and one fresh voluntary winding-up appear side by side, both handled through the same statutory machinery. The gazette remains the only public record of these transitions, since no separate announcement is required.
For clients, counterparties and minority investors, the lesson is procedural rather than dramatic. A company can disappear from the register through a short, unheralded notice, and the gazette is where that disappearance becomes legally visible.
The removal of Meadowbank Asset Management (Guyana) Inc. closes the file on company number 9205. Creditors and former clients who have not yet reconciled their positions should do so now, while the liquidation record is still the governing reference.
