María Ubarrechena Cid, Minister of Governance, Digital Administration and Self-Government, has corrected the errors of the call for applications of September 21 through the Order of October 14, and has added Mathematics to the list of accepted qualifications for the Information Systems Scale. The deadline for submitting applications has also been extended until November 17, ending at 14:00 on that day. Both decisions were published in issue 201 of the Official Gazette of the Basque Country on October 21, 2026, with official reference 2026/4415.

The original rule being corrected is the Order of September 21, reference 2026/4202, which called for the selective access process for the bodies and scales of the General Administration of the Basque Autonomous Community, for a total of 367 positions distributed across fifteen scales and bodies. That call was published on October 13 in issue 195 of the Official Gazette of the Basque Country, and the application period established therein began on October 14 and ended on November 10 at 14:00. The procedure for correcting errors is regulated by article 18.2.c) of Decree 217/2008: errors or omissions that are not clearly inferable from the context and may truly change the content or meaning must be corrected by a provision of the same rank.

The correction does not extend to the entire call. The Order has two articles, and the first only affects a section of the specific requirements for the Information Systems Scale; the second, meanwhile, only changes the application period for that scale. The requirements and deadlines for the remaining fourteen scales remain as they were.

Mathematics, the missing ninth field

The correction amends section 2.3 of the specific requirements for the Information Systems Scale, published on page 32/101 of document 2026/4202. In it, the study areas accepted by qualification are listed, and it was verified that Mathematics was missing. Until now, this list was:

  • 061301 Software and application development.
  • 061201 Database design and administration.
  • 061901 Informatics.
  • 071401 Computer engineering.
  • 071402 Sound and image engineering.
  • 071403 Telecommunications engineering.
  • 071405 Electronics engineering.
  • 061304 Artificial intelligence.

The correction adds 054101 Mathematics to that list, in the last position. The same requirement specifies that the qualifications included in each area are established by Decree 115/2026, of July 7, which approves the list of positions for civil servants of the Public Administration of the Basque Autonomous Community. Consequently, people with a degree, license, or engineering qualification in Mathematics now have the opportunity to apply for that scale.

Application period, one more week

The Order’s second article resets the application period for the selection process of the Information Systems Scale: it will end on November 17, at 14:00. The original call had a deadline of November 10, therefore the corrections grant interested parties an additional week. The extension applies only to the process for that scale and does not affect the other scales called by the Order of September 21.

Fifteen positions and two testing phases

The Information Systems Scale is within the High-Level Faculty Body, and the call offers 15 positions, all in free shifts and general access modality. Of these, 11 are for positions requiring Basque language level 3, and 4 are for positions without language requirements. The fee for each application is 20.68 euros, and the selection system is a competitive examination: the opposition phase can earn a maximum of 100 points, and the competition phase 45.

Appeals, one month or two months

The Order exhausts the administrative route. Interested parties may submit an appeal for reconsideration within one month, before the Minister of Governance, Digital Administration and Self-Government, counting from the day following its publication. Otherwise, they may file a contentious-administrative appeal within two months, in accordance with Law 29/1998.

The corrections have a direct impact on the people who wish to apply for that scale: those with Mathematics degrees previously had no access, and other candidates have an extra week to complete the procedures. The call comprises 367 positions across fifteen scales, and the Information Systems Scale is the only one affected by the corrections, both in the list of qualifications and in the deadline.
