Maside approves the 2026 budget and opens a fifteen-day period for claims
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Maside City Council initially approved the General Budget for the 2026 financial year, along with the personnel framework, the List of Job Positions, and other annexes, in the ordinary and in-person session held on September 30, 2026. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense no. 189, dated October 2, 2026, in section IV. Local Entities (R. 2.340), and opens a period of fifteen business days to file claims. If no objections are presented, the budget will be definitively approved.
The announcement, signed by Mayor José Manuel Iglesias Araujo, is processed in compliance with Article 169 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating local finances. The public exhibition is carried out through the transparency portal of the council’s electronic office, at https://maside.sedelectronica.gal.
The period of fifteen business days begins to count the day following the publication of the edict in the provincial gazette. During this period, any interested person may examine the file and address any claims they consider pertinent to the mayor of the corporation. Once the period has elapsed without claims, the agreement will be considered definitively approved in accordance with Article 169.1 of the aforementioned regulation.
Content of the approved file
The initial approval covers the set of documents that define the municipal treasury for the next financial year:
- General Budget for the 2026 financial year.
- Personnel framework.
- List of Job Positions.
- Other annexes corresponding to the said financial year.
The edict does not include the specific figures for income and expenses nor the remunerations, which will be known through the summary publication by chapters once the public exhibition process is closed.
Publication and subsequent procedures
Once the budget is definitively approved, the council must comply with the procedure of summary publication by chapters in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the municipal notice board, along with the budgetary personnel framework and the list of positions with exclusive and partial dedication, indemnities, and allowances.
This publication is required according to Article 127 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, Article 75.5 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, and Article 169.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5.
Other councils in the budgetary phase
In the same issue of the provincial gazette, other councils in the province publish procedures of a budgetary nature:
- Sandiás City Council: initial approval of file 489/2026 for the transfer of credits between expenditure applications of different expenditure areas, agreed upon by the Plenary in the ordinary session of September 28, 2026, submitted for public information for fifteen days.
- San Amaro City Council: initial approval of the credit modification file no. 10/2026 of the current budget, in the form of a credit supplement, financed from the Treasury surplus, agreed upon by the Plenary on September 29, 2026.
The coincidence of these announcements shows that the councils of the province are closing the cycle of approval and adjustment of their accounts for 2026 these days.
The initial approval of the Maside budget marks the economic framework under which the council will operate during 2026, including staff remuneration and the job structure. The period of fifteen business days is the only opportunity for neighbors and interested parties to present objections before the accounts are definitively closed.
