Por FactBox Admin

The Martos City Council (Jaén) has set the public prices for the performance of the play ‘Jason and the Furies’, scheduled for October 17, 2026, at the Maestro Álvarez Alonso Municipal Theater. Tickets will cost 15 euros in advance and 17 euros at the box office on the day of the performance, according to the agreement adopted by the Local Government Board and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén.
The decision, adopted in an ordinary session held on August 18, falls within the Regulatory Ordinance of General Rules for the establishment or modification of Public Prices of this City Council, and aims to cover the expenses derived from the activity. The edict, signed by the mayor-president Emilio Torres Velasco, is published in issue number 172 of the gazette, corresponding to Friday, September 4, 2026.
The play and its programming
‘Jason and the Furies’ is a production by Teatro del Noctámbulo S.L., which will be performed as part of the Platea Program, the state performing arts circuit promoted by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) together with autonomous communities and local entities. The performance will take place on October 17 at the Maestro Álvarez Alonso Municipal Theater in Martos.
Prices by zone and modality
The agreement distinguishes between advance sales and box office sales on the day of the performance, the latter being conditional on the venue not being full:
- Advance sale (€15.00): Stalls (256 seats), Amphitheater (268 seats), and space for disabled persons with reduced mobility (12 seats).
- Box office sale (€17.00): Stalls, Amphitheater, and disabled space, for the remaining seats from the advance sale.
The box office price will only apply provided that the capacity was not filled during the advance sale.
Legal framework and appeals
The approval is carried out in accordance with the municipal ordinance regulating public prices, which enables the Council to establish rates for cultural activities. A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement, in the form and within the time limits established by the regulatory norms of said jurisdiction, without prejudice to any other appeal deemed appropriate.
The publication in the official gazette provides publicity and effectiveness to the agreement, so that interested parties can know the rates prior to the opening of ticket sales. For the cultural public of the region, the setting of these prices confirms the arrival in Martos of a state-circuit stage production, with a total capacity of 536 seats between the stalls and amphitheater, anticipating high demand in advance sales.
