Maristas Talavera expands units and school placements for 2026/2027

The Provincial Delegation of Education, Culture, and Sports of Toledo has approved the expansion of units and school places at the private center Maristas Santa María del Prado, in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), through a resolution dated August 27, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) on September 4, 2026. The measure, which affects hundreds of families, will take effect from the first day of the 2026/2027 school year.

The resolution, reference 2026/6370, is framed within section III of other provisions and acts of the bulletin and modifies the center’s authorization, which is now configured as a Private Center for Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education. The file was initiated at the request of Mr. Jaime Comabella Callizo, representing the center’s ownership, and is signed by the provincial delegate José Gutiérrez Muñoz.

A growing center

The center, with code 45003097 and located at calle Capitán Cortés, 24 in Talavera de la Reina, is managed by the Fundación Maristas Ibérica. The authorized expansion increases both the number of units and the capacity of school places across all stages it teaches, from Early Childhood Education to Baccalaureate.

The new authorized teachings

The resolution establishes the definitive configuration of the center for the next course, with the following units and school places:

• Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education: 6 units and 150 school places.
• Primary Education: 12 units and 300 school places.
• Compulsory Secondary Education: 12 units and 360 school places.
• Baccalaureate in Science and Technology: 4 units and 134 school places.
• Baccalaureate in Humanities and Social Sciences: 2 units and 70 school places.

Obligations and deadlines

The authorization requires the center’s owner to comply with the provisions of article 115.3 of the Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education in the event of modifying its own nature. Furthermore, the ownership must present any change in its personnel list to the Provincial Delegation, indicating their qualifications; this list must be approved following a report from the Education Inspection before the teachings begin operation. At the time of its opening, the center must have the necessary equipment to properly provide the educational offer.

The resolution concludes the administrative process. An administrative-law appeal may be filed against it before the Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha within two months of its publication, or, optionally, a request for reversal before the head of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports within one month.

The expansion strengthens the private educational offering of Talavera de la Reina and responds to the demand for places in the region, guaranteeing hundreds of families the continuity of their children at the center from Early Childhood Education to Baccalaureate for the 2026/2027 academic year.
