Maracena announces 55 permanent positions for home care assistants

The Maracena City Council has announced 55 vacancies for home care assistants as permanent part-time staff, equivalent to group C, subgroup C2, works and services category. The rules and the call for applications were approved by the Local Government Board in an ordinary session held on October 1, 2026, and are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 194, dated October 7, 2026, with the official reference BOP-GRA-2026-194027. The deadline for submitting applications is 20 business days, and the examination fee amounts to 40 euros.

The call is part of the 2023 Extraordinary Public Employment Offer of the Maracena council and is resolved through an open competitive examination. The positions are part-time, with a minimum of 60% of the working day, and are vacant within the staff roster of the Maracena City Council. The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Carlos Porcel Aibar, in Maracena, on October 6, 2026.

The volume of announced vacancies makes this operation one of the main personnel incorporations in the municipal socio-sanitary field of the province, with a specific syllabus focused on the Home Care Service in Andalusia, Law 39/2006 on dependency, and home care for elderly people and people with disabilities.

Requirements and required qualifications

Applicants must meet the requirements by the expiration date of the application period and maintain them until taking office. These include:

• Holding Spanish nationality or complying with the provisions of article 57 of the Revised Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.
• Having reached 16 years of age and not exceeding the maximum compulsory retirement age.
• Possessing the appropriate functional capacity for the performance of the position.
• Holding one of the qualifications established in the Resolution of July 28, 2015, of the Ministry of Equality and Social Policies of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
• Not having been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings nor being disqualified from public employment.

Admitted qualifications include the title of nursing auxiliary technician, clinical technician, and psychiatric technician; titles of technician in nursing auxiliary care, in care for people in situations of dependency, and in socio-sanitary care; and professional certificates for home care assistants and socio-sanitary care for people at home or in social institutions, as well as any equivalent or recognized documentation.

Deadline, fee, and submission of applications

The submission period is 20 business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement summary in the Official State Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado), extending to the first following business day if the period ends on a non-working day. Applications shall adhere to the model in Annex II and be addressed to the mayor of the Maracena City Council.

• General fee: 40 euros, deposited into account ES76 3058 3022 36 2732000014 of CAJAMAR.
• Reduced fee of 6 euros: families with incomes not exceeding twice the minimum interprofessional wage and persons with a disability of 33% or higher.
• 50% reduction: job seekers registered at least twelve months prior to the application who have exhausted or do not receive unemployment benefits.
• In-person submission: General Registry of the City Council, at calle Fundación Rojas number 1 in Maracena, Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 13:30 hours, or through the channels established in article 16 of Law 39/2015.

Failure to pay the examination fees in full and late applications are considered non-remediable defects and will result in exclusion from the process.

Selection process and qualifying tribunal

The procedure consists of two eliminatory exercises, with the first being necessary to pass in order to access the second. The first exercise consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire with a maximum of 50 questions with three alternative answers, 90 minutes in duration, and a minimum score of 6 points; every two incorrect answers deduct one correct answer. The second exercise is oral, with four questions and ten minutes per candidate, and requires a minimum of 5 points. The call-up will begin with the letter “B”, in accordance with the Resolution of June 29, 2026, of the State Secretariat for Public Function.

The selection body will be a collegiate board and will be composed of a presidency, three memberships, and a secretariat with voice and vote, all of whom are career civil servants appointed by the mayor, along with their corresponding substitutes. Once the selection is completed, the tribunal may create a reserve list or job pool to cover urgent temporary needs.
