Maracena consolidates public employment with five career civil servants

The Maracena City Council has appointed five career civil servants as a result of the selection processes of the 2024 Extraordinary Public Employment Offer. The decision, signed by the Mayor-President Carlos Porcel Aibar, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 175, dated September 10, 2026, with the official reference BOP-GRA-2026-175013.

The 2024 extraordinary OEP was approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on September 18, 2024, and published in the BOP of Granada no. 189, dated September 30, 2024. The appointments are made in accordance with the proposals of the qualifying tribunal and in compliance with Article 62 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the Revised Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.

The five appointments

The designated individuals, with their respective Mayoral resolutions and positions, are as follows:

• Alejandro García Cotelo, appointed by Mayoral Resolution 2026-2598, of August 21, 2026, as Management Assistant: Cultural, Sports, Educational, Recreational, and Administrative.
• Rafael Girón Fernández, appointed by Mayoral Resolution 2026-2607, of August 24, 2026, as Management Assistant in the same category.
• Adrián Ortega Crespo, appointed by Mayoral Resolution 2026-2608, of August 24, 2026, as Management Assistant in the same category.
• María José Sola García, appointed by Mayoral Resolution 2026-2612, of August 24, 2026, as Kindergarten Assistant.
• Ignacio Martín Redondo, appointed by Mayoral Resolution 2026-2596, of August 21, 2026, as Technical Assistant for Environment and General Services.

Categories and professional groups

The new civil servants are integrated into the Special Administration Scale, Special Services sub-scale, with the following classifications:

• The three management assistants and the kindergarten assistant belong to Group C, Subgroup C2.
• The technical assistant for the environment is classified in Group C, Subgroup C1.
• The kindergarten assistant position is assigned to the Assistant Class within the Special Services sub-scale.

All appointments carry the duties and rights inherent to the status of a career civil servant, thus consolidating stable public employment in the municipality.

Consolidation of municipal public employment

With these appointments, the Maracena City Council takes another step toward the stabilization of its workforce, reducing temporary employment and guaranteeing the permanent filling of positions in essential services such as cultural, sports, and educational management, childcare, and environmental maintenance. The announcement, dated in Maracena on September 1, 2026, is made public for the general knowledge of the citizenry.
