María Luisa Ballesteros Puente, new deputy director of the Tax Management Area

The Cantabrian Tax Administration Agency has awarded the post of Deputy Director General of the Management Area to María Luisa Ballesteros Puente, a career civil servant, by resolution of 6 August 2026. The appointment, processed under the free designation procedure, is published this Thursday in Official Gazette of Cantabria number 155, with reference CVE-2026-6437.

The call was formalized by resolution of the president of the Cantabrian Tax Administration Agency of 18 June 2026, published in Official Gazette of Cantabria number 126, of 2 July 2026. The post awarded, number 8537, is reserved for career civil servants and falls under the Department of Economy, Finance, Autonomous Financing and European Funds of the Government of Cantabria.

Appointment by free designation

The procedure has been conducted in accordance with Article 44.2 of Law 4/1993, of 10 March, on the Civil Service of Cantabria, and with the provisions of the sixth rule of the call. The resolution, which includes the favourable reports referred to in the fifth rule, awards the post in accordance with the terms of the attached annex.

According to the annex to the resolution:

• Post awarded: number 8537, “Deputy Director General of the Management Area”.
• Awardee: María Luisa Ballesteros Puente (D.N.I. *4372).
• Calling body: Cantabrian Tax Administration Agency.
• Department of assignment: Economy, Finance, Autonomous Financing and European Funds.

Taking office and notification

The time limit for taking up the new post shall be as provided in the seventh rule of the call resolution. Publication in the official gazette shall serve as notification to the interested parties, in accordance with Articles 42 and related provisions of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations.

The resolution, signed in Santander on 6 August 2026 by the president of the agency, Luis Ángel Agüeros Sánchez, puts an end to the administrative procedure.

Appeals

The following appeals may be brought against the resolution:

• A contentious-administrative appeal before the High Court of Justice of Cantabria within two months from the day following publication, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of 13 July, on Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.
• Optionally, a reconsideration appeal before the same body within one month, in accordance with Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015 and Article 149 of Law 5/2018, of 22 November, on the Legal Regime of the Government, the Administration and the Institutional Public Sector of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria; in that case, the contentious-administrative appeal may not be lodged until an express decision is issued or deemed rejection occurs.

Relevance

With this appointment, the Cantabrian Tax Administration Agency completes the provision of one of its management positions, the head of the Management Area, reserved for career civil servants and key to the organization of the body responsible for the tax administration of the Community.
