María Dolores Guilló Fuentes, appointed full professor at the University of Alicante

The Valencian Government publishes the appointment of a full professor at the University of Alicante

The Official Gazette of the Valencian Government (DOGV) number 10431, corresponding to 18 August 2026, has published the resolution by which María Dolores Guilló Fuentes is appointed full university professor in the area of knowledge of Foundations of Economic Analysis. The document bears the official reference DOGV-C-2026-25533 and is framed within Section II of the bulletin, dedicated to Authorities and Personnel, subsection of Appointments and Removals.

The distinction represents the highest academic recognition in the Spanish university system and falls upon one of the main institutions of the Valencian Community, the University of Alicante.

Legal basis and selection procedure

The resolution, dated 28 July 2026, is issued in accordance with the proposal submitted by the committee appointed to judge the position of full university professor number DF03235. Said position was announced by means of the Resolution of 30 March 2026, published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of 20 April 2026, and corresponds to the Department of Foundations of Economic Analysis of the Alicante university.

Legal basis and procedural guarantees

The Rector Amparo Navarro Faure acts under the powers conferred by Organic Law 2/2023, of 22 March, on the University System (LOSU), whose Article 38.4 regulates the access procedures to the category of full university professor. The appointment becomes effective after verification of the documentation required in the ninth basis of the original call.

The resolution exhausts the administrative route and is subject to the following appeals:

• Contentious-administrative appeal before the competent court of Alicante, within two months from publication (in accordance with Articles 114 and 46 of Law 39/2015 and Law 29/1998).
• Optional reconsideration appeal before the Rector, within one month from publication (Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October).

The role of the University of Alicante in economic research

The University of Alicante is one of the main higher education institutions in the Valencian Community, with a solid track record in research in economic and business sciences. The Department of Foundations of Economic Analysis is part of the academic structure of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, where undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs are taught in areas related to economic theory, econometrics, and economic policy.

The incorporation of a new full professor strengthens the capacity for high-level research and teaching in a key field for the training of professionals and the generation of knowledge in the region.
