Por FactBox Admin

The Manresa City Council has opened the call for 2026 grants to repair home interiors and promote accessibility, with an amount of up to 4,000 euros per household. The resolution, dated October 21, 2026, is signed by the sixth deputy mayor, Carles García Estany, upon the proposal of the delegated councillor for Housing, Historic Center, and Licenses, Jesús Alonso Sáinz. The extract is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on October 27, 2026, with the official reference CVE 202610159172 and identification number BDNS 937551.
The call applies the specific bases approved by the Corporate Plenary on July 18, 2024, and published in the BOPB on July 24, 2024. The objective is to promote the repair and improvement of home interiors to facilitate the autonomy of individuals within their home, and it is processed by the Social Rights Service under the grant code SUB.BCO 2026000011. The full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database.
The Manresa City Council reserves up to 50,000 euros for this line, charged to the budgetary application 1520 78100 of the 2026 municipal budget. The allocation may be expanded according to economic availability, and grants are awarded until the funds are exhausted.
Adapted bathrooms, the core of the eligible works
The financeable actions are interventions inside the home intended to improve the accessibility of the bathroom to facilitate personal hygiene:
- Replacement of the bathtub with a shower tray, adaptation of the bathtub or shower, replacement of faucets and screens.
- Replacement or adaptation of the toilet or washbasin.
- Removal of the bidet or other elements to facilitate mobility.
- Changing the swing of the door or widening the access door to the bathroom.
- Anti-slip treatment of floors.
- Installation of technical aids: seats, risers, grips, support bars, and handrails.
The amount can cover 100% of the work budget, with a ceiling of 4,000.00 euros per home. The sum combined with other grants from other administrations can never exceed the actual cost of the action.
Who can access it and what income limit applies
Two profiles can apply for the grants:
- People over 80 years old who live alone or with another person aged 65 or older.
- People from a cohabitation unit that includes someone with a recognized degree of dependency, with their habitual and permanent residence in the home subject to the repair and who benefits directly from it.
It is necessary to be registered as a resident in Manresa at the home to be renovated as the habitual residence, to be the owner, usufructuary, or tenant, and, in the latter two cases, to provide authorization from the owner. The income ceiling for the cohabitation unit is bracket G of the municipal social pricing for 2026:
- 1 person: 21,649.91 euros.
- 2 people: 28,144.87 euros.
- 3 people: 34,639.83 euros.
- 4 people: 41,134.79 euros.
- 5 people: 47,629.76 euros.
- 6 people: 54,124.72 euros.
- 7 or more people: 60,619.68 euros.
It is also required to be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations and not to incur any prohibition from receiving subsidies according to Law 38/2003, the general law on subsidies.
Deadline, payment and control of the works
The deadline is an open call: it begins the day after the publication of the extract in the BOPB and ends, at the latest, on November 6, 2026, with early closure if the credit is exhausted. The application is submitted through the procedures portal of the electronic office, or in person at the Municipal Housing Office (Cra. de Vic, 16, Infants building) and at the offices of the Care, Disability and Elderly People Support Team (EDID) at Carrer Cintaires, 30-32, 3rd floor.
The grant is processed on a non-competitive basis and in chronological order of submission, through an evaluation commission chaired by the delegated councillor for housing. The resolution must be adopted within six months; the aid is paid in full as an advance, and the beneficiary must start the works within a maximum of three months, complete them within six months, and justify the expenditure within the following 30 business days. Express waiver can be declared up to 10 business days after notification.
The grants are compatible with other administrations, but not with the home improvement program of the Barcelona Provincial Council of the same year and for the same purpose.
The scope of the measure is limited but very specific: there are 50,000 euros for a maximum of 4,000 per household, meaning the call can reach about twenty homes at most if all applications exhaust the ceiling. For elderly people living alone and for families with someone with recognized dependency, the subsidy covers the full cost of replacing a bathtub with a shower tray or widening a door, works that are often the condition for continuing to live at home safely.
