Manganeses de la Polvorosa transfers a plot to Somacyl for protected housing.

The Plenary of the Manganeses de la Polvorosa City Council approved on 8 August 2026 the free transfer of the municipal plot located at Calle Valle, number 70, to the Public Company for Infrastructures and Environment of Castilla y León, S.A. (Somacyl) for the promotion and construction of protected housing. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zamora, number 93, of Wednesday 12 August 2026 (reference R-202601961), and opens a period of twenty days for interested parties to submit allegations.

The transfer gives effect to the collaboration agreement signed between the City Council and Somacyl, approved by the Municipal Plenary on 14 December 2024. With this operation, the local Corporation makes municipally owned land available to the regional public company so that the company can undertake the promotion of protected housing in the municipality, in a model of collaboration between administrations that is common in the province.

In accordance with the applicable regulations, the file is available to interested parties for a period of twenty days, counted from the day following the publication of the notice in the provincial gazette, at the Public Attention Office of the Manganeses de la Polvorosa City Council, located at Plaza de la Iglesia, number 3. During this period, the file may be examined and, where applicable, the appropriate allegations may be submitted; the agreement shall be deemed definitively approved unless it is subject to a claim.

The notice appears on page 46 of the gazette, is signed by the Mayor’s Office dated 9 August 2026, and has been electronically signed using the municipal management platform.

Relevance for the municipality

Publication in the official gazette turns the transfer into a public and participatory procedure: any interested party may now consult the file and oppose the agreement before it becomes final. With this operation, the municipality mobilises public land for Somacyl to promote protected housing in rural Zamora, a way to expand the supply of affordable housing and encourage population settlement in the territory. The outcome of the allegations period will determine the entry into force of the agreement and the start of the urban development action.
