Magacela sets urban IBI at 0.46 percent

The Magacela City Council has finalized the fiscal ordinance regulating the Property Tax (IBI), which sets the tax rate applicable to urban properties at 0.46%. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz, number 162, dated August 25, 2026, via announcement 3365/2026.
The decision was adopted by the Plenary Council in a session held on June 26, 2026, when the ordinance was provisionally approved. After the file remained open to the public for thirty days without any claims being filed, the plenary agreement was made final in accordance with Article 17.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.
A single rate for urban properties
The modification affects only Article 9 of the ordinance, relating to the tax quota, the tax rate, and the surcharge. The rest of the regulatory text remains unchanged.

Entry into force and publication
In compliance with Article 17.4 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, the text of the approved modification is published for its entry into force. The measure is directly applicable to all owners of urban properties in the municipality, who will see this rate reflected in the tax settlement.
Appeals against the agreement
A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the aforementioned agreement before the corresponding Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, within two months starting from the day following the publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province. The document appears digitally signed by the mayor, Ángel Calderón Poves.
Setting the rate at 0.46% provides legal certainty to the taxpayers of Magacela, who know in advance the tax burden their urban properties will bear. The final approval, without allegations during the public exhibition process, confirms the acceptance of the measure by the citizens and consolidates the ordinance as a stable rule for the coming fiscal years.
