Málaga abre la convocatoria de 74 plazas de Policía Local

The Málaga City Council has published the guidelines for the call for 74 Local Police positions corresponding to the public employment offers of 2023, 2024, and 2025. The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga dated November 5, 2026, within block 2, dedicated to city councils, under the reference Edict 4263/2026. The call opens the selection process to new applicants and reinforces the force’s staff in the capital.

The announcement and its administrative framework

The edict is included among the fifteen municipal announcements published by the provincial gazette that day and is, by far, the one with the highest number of positions of the day. The competence belongs to the Málaga City Council, which approves the guidelines and submits them for official publication as a prerequisite for opening the selection process; the full text of the edict is what specifies the details of the procedure.

The 74 positions do not correspond to a single budget year, but rather accumulate three consecutive public employment offers. The OEP (Public Employment Offer) is the instrument through which each administration annually plans its staffing needs and authorizes the call for positions; by unifying 2023, 2024, and 2025 into a single announcement, the Málaga City Council concentrates a volume of positions into a single process that would otherwise have required three successive calls.

The capital also maintains selection activity on other fronts: Edict 4120/2026, published on October 27, 2026, established the order of action for applicants from different calls of the 2025 OEP, and Edict 4223/2026, dated November 3, 2026, contains the guidelines for six Operator positions from the 2024 and 2025 offers.

A force in full renewal across the province

The call in the capital adds to a continuous sequence of Local Police announcements in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga over recent months, with processes in various stages (guidelines, lists of admitted candidates, tribunals, and appointments):

  • Marbella: guidelines for 26 Local Police positions (Edict 3920/2026, October 21, 2026).
  • Fuengirola: 14 positions via open competition and mobility without promotion (Edict 3133/2026), with a modification of guidelines and subsequent call (Edict 3345/2026), both dated August 26, 2026.
  • Vélez-Málaga: appointment of career civil servants for five positions (Edict 3390/2026, September 14, 2026).
  • Estepona: four Officer positions (Edict 3905/2026, October 29, 2026) and one Sub-Inspector position (Edict 3766/2026, October 21, 2026).
  • Antequera: four Officer positions (Edict 3680/2026, October 14, 2026).
  • Cártama: four positions (Edict 3683/2026, October 14, 2026).
  • Casabermeja: three positions, with a correction of an error in the call (Edict 3446/2026, October 5, 2026).
  • Pizarra: four positions from the 2022-23, 2024, and 2025 PEP (Edict 3279/2026, September 2, 2026).
  • Ronda: three Officer positions (Edict 3888/2026, October 13, 2026).
  • Villanueva del Rosario: one position (Edict 4125/2026, October 28, 2026).

The same bulletin issue

The November 5, 2026 issue concentrates other announcements related to local public employment. Benahavís publishes the guidelines for the provision of a Local Police post via secondment (Edict 4181/2026), while Torremolinos approves its public employment offers for the 2023 (additional), 2025, and 2026 fiscal years (Edict 4207/2026). In the consortiums section, the Málaga consortium submits the initial approval of the 2027 personnel staffing plan for public review (Edict 4149/2026).

Impact

With 74 positions, the call from the Málaga City Council is the largest volume of Local Police positions published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga since last August, ahead of the 26 from Marbella and the 14 from Fuengirola. For applicants, the announcement opens one of the main gateways to the force in the province; for the capital, it means incorporating personnel committed across three budget years in a single process.
