Ólvega updates the waste rate and submits it to public information

Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary Session of the Ólvega City Council agreed on 6 August 2026 to provisionally approve the amendment of the municipal ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of the waste collection service. The notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria (No. 93, of 12 August 2026, reference BOPSO-93-12082026) and subjects the file to public information for thirty days, a procedure that will affect all households and businesses in the town.

The processing complies with Article 17.2 of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Finances, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of 5 March, which requires that provisional agreements amending municipal ordinances be subject to public information before their final approval. The fee levies the provision of the municipal waste collection service, a periodic tax that applies to all properties in the municipality.

Thirty days of public information

The public display period begins on the day after the publication of the notice in the provincial gazette, that is, 13 August 2026, and lasts for thirty days. During that period, any interested party may examine the file and submit the allegations they deem appropriate.

  • The file may be consulted at the municipal offices of the Ólvega City Council.
  • It is also available on the council’s e-office website: http://olvega.sedelectronica.es.
  • Allegations may be submitted by any interested party throughout the entire thirty-day period.

Without allegations, the agreement will become final

The notice warns that, if no claims are filed during the public information period, the agreement, adopted until then on a provisional basis, will be deemed finally approved. Public exposure is therefore the last step before the amendment of the ordinance becomes final.

The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary at the session held on 6 August 2026, and the notice is signed by the mayor, Elia Jiménez Hernández, in Ólvega, dated 7 August 2026.

Effects for residents and businesses

The fee for the provision of the waste collection service is a periodic tax that directly affects property holders and commercial establishments in Ólvega, so the approved amendment will be reflected in the receipts they pay from its entry into force. The notice does not detail the new amounts or the implementation schedule; these details must be consulted in the file itself during the public display period.

This publication opens a window for citizen participation: only if residents and businesses review the file and submit allegations will they be able to influence the final content of the ordinance. The thirty-day period will end in mid-September, and from that moment on, the agreement may be definitively adopted.
