Lugo submits the Safety and Health Committee regulations to public exhibition

The Plenary Council of Lugo, in an ordinary session held on July 30, 2026, agreed to initially approve the file for the Initial Approval of the Internal Operating Regulations of the Health and Safety Committee of the Most Excellent City Council of Lugo. The agreement is subject to public exhibition for a period of thirty days, during which interested parties may submit their suggestions and claims.

The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 190, Friday August 21, 2026, under reference R. 2236, signed on August 12, 2026, by the general secretary of the Plenary, Pablo Portela Fernández, and the mayor-president, María Elena Candia López.

Object and scope of the regulation

The purpose of the regulation is to establish the internal operation of the Health and Safety Committee of the Lugo City Council, the joint body for participation and consultation regarding occupational risk prevention affecting municipal personnel. Its initial approval represents the first administrative step toward providing this body with its own regulatory framework.

The processing is carried out under Article 49 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of Local Regime, which regulates the procedure for the approval of municipal ordinances and regulations.

Deadline and channels for allegations

During the thirty days of public exhibition, the administrative file may be examined at the Occupational Risk Prevention offices, at Ronda da Muralla 197, 3rd floor, as well as on the entity’s transparency portal.

• The period begins to count the day following the publication in the BOP of Lugo.
• Allegations and claims shall be presented within this same period.
• If no suggestions or claims are presented, the provisional agreements will be understood as automatically definitive.

Relevance for municipal personnel

The entry into force of the regulation will provide the Health and Safety Committee with a clear operating rule, reinforcing the participation of municipal workers in the management of occupational risk prevention. Final approval will depend on whether no allegations are formulated during the public information period or on the resolution of those presented.
