Lugo announces three Local Police vacancies on secondment

The Lugo City Council calls for the filling via secondment (commission of services) of three Local Police job positions, on an urgent basis and for a period of one year, extendable for another. The public call, initiated by a decree from the Mayor’s Office on August 6, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo (reference R. 2232).
The decree from the Mayor’s Office of August 6, 2026, agreed to the initiation of the proceedings, on an urgent basis, for the provision of three job positions in the Local Police of the Most Excellent City Council of Lugo. The filling will be carried out via secondment, a temporary provision formula that allows an active civil servant to occupy a job position other than their own for a determined period, in this case, one year extendable for another.
Deadlines and submission of applications
Interested persons who meet the indicated requirements must submit their application within a period of 5 business days, which will begin to count from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOP of Lugo. Applications shall be submitted according to the forms determined by article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of Public Administrations.
Along with the application, the applicant’s curriculum vitae must be attached.

Selection criteria
The selection criteria that will be taken into account for the awarding of the positions will be those referring to seniority, personal grade, work and positions held, as well as training and/or academic merits, preferably related to the position to be performed.
For its dissemination and general knowledge, the announcement will be inserted on the Notice Board of the City Council’s electronic headquarters and sent to corporate emails, as well as to the BOP of Lugo. The call is signed in Lugo on August 13, 2026, by the mayor-president, María Elena Candia López.
The call represents an opportunity for active Local Police officers who wish to serve in the City Council of Lugo, in a context of urgent staffing. The reduced deadline for submitting applications, of only 5 business days, emphasizes the urgent nature of the measure and the need to swiftly reinforce the personnel staff of the Local Police of the Lucense capital.
