Lugo opens 28,000 euro call for non-profit associations

The Lugo City Council opens the call for grants for associations and non-profit entities that carry out their activity in the field of economic revitalization, with a budget credit of 28,000 euros. The guidelines were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo on Saturday, August 29, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 926505, and applications may be submitted within 15 business days from the day following the publication.

The guidelines, signed by Mayor M.ª Elena Candia López, are processed through the Area of Economic Revitalization and Institutional Relations, Local Development Service. The objective is to co-finance projects for the promotion of trade, hospitality, business training, and job creation developed within the municipal territorial area of Lugo during the 2026 fiscal year.

Credit and amount of aid

The call has a budget allocation of 28,000 euros in application 24100.48900 (RC 8461/26). The economic conditions are as follows:

• Up to a maximum of 90% of the total cost of the action will be subsidized, according to the submitted budget.
• The maximum amount per association or entity cannot exceed 2,000 euros, without prejudice to the Council reducing it ex officio based on the applications.
• The remaining 10% of the expenditure must be financed exclusively by the entity.
• No payments on account or advances will be made; payment will be made by bank transfer.

Who can apply

Associations and non-profit entities with headquarters and registered office in Lugo that have activities for economic promotion, trade, business and employment training, hospitality, or job creation recognized in their statutory purposes may apply. Among the required requirements are:

• To be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the Lugo City Council.
• To be up to date with state, regional, local, and Social Security tax obligations.
• Not to be subject to the prohibitions of the grant laws of Galicia and the State.
• To have duly justified the expenses of previously granted grants.
• Not to receive any nominative municipal grant in the 2026 budget.

Deadline and processing

Applications shall be submitted by electronic means through the electronic office (www.lugo.gal) or any electronic registry of the public administrations. The deadline is 15 business days from the day following the official publication in the BOP of Lugo. The resolution corresponds to the Local Government Board, with a maximum period of six months; after this period without an express resolution, the application may be understood as rejected.

The assessment will be carried out according to criteria such as the number of associated people, years of experience and implementation in Lugo, the promotion of digitalization, innovation and sustainability, training activities with more than 50 beneficiaries, and the promotion of local cultural and traditional values. The maximum score is 14 points, and only projects that reach a minimum of 7 points will be considered eligible for subsidies. The deadline to justify the subsidy is November 30, 2026.

The call represents an opportunity for the associative, commercial, and hospitality fabric of Lugo to obtain funding for projects that complement the municipal economic revitalization programming. With up to 2,000 euros per entity, the grants seek to reinforce entrepreneurship, training, and the enhancement of the territory, in a commitment by the City Council to support the local economy through its non-profit organizations.
