Object and beneficiary entities
The bases regulate the granting of aid for the development, during the 2025 annuality (from January 1 to December 31, 2025) and the first semester of 2026 (from January 1 to June 30, 2026), of programs and activities that benefit groups in the field of sports. All associations or non-profit entities that meet the established requirements may apply:
- Be legally constituted and domiciled in the municipality of Lugo and registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations.
- Be up to date with state, local, and Social Security tax obligations.
- Not be subject to the prohibition scenarios provided for in Law 9/2007 on grants in Galicia and Law 38/2003 general law on grants.
- Have duly justified the expenses of grants granted previously.
- Develop activities that complement the municipal sports programming.
Evaluation criteria
The granting and the amount of the aid will be determined under a competitive bidding regime, prorating the total credit among the points achieved by each application. The evaluation criteria include:
- Number of federative licenses processed by the entity (up to 30 points).
- Female federative licenses (5 points) and licenses for athletes with disabilities (5 points).
- Teams participating in national, Galician, and provincial leagues or competitions.
- Participation in Spanish, Galician, and provincial championships at an individual level.
In no case may the grant exceed 90% of the total cost of the action, and the entity must finance the remaining 10% with its own resources. The competent body to resolve is the delegated councilor for Youth, Sports and Childhood, by virtue of the delegation of the Local Government Board agreement 40/607, of July 26, 2023, with a maximum period of six months to resolve and notify.
Eligible expenses
Expenses that correspond to the nature of the project and are incurred within the subsidized period shall be eligible for funding, including specific personnel costs and indirect operating expenses (electricity, telephone, rent, management) up to a maximum of 20% of the granted amount. Excluded, among others, are expenses for alcoholic beverages, infrastructure investments, interest, sanctions, municipal taxes, and expenses where the creditor is linked to the Board of Directors of the entity.
The call for applications provides a new boost to the city’s sporting fabric, allowing clubs and non-profit entities to finance their activities and federated competitions.
