Por FactBox Admin

The Lugo City Council has opened the call for grants aimed at associations and private legal entities without profit motives for projects promoting gender equality and affective-sexual diversity, endowed with 25,000 euros. The Local Government Board approved the bases through agreement number 1/384, adopted in the ordinary session of September 21, 2026, and the announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 226, of October 2, 2026, with reference R. 2595.
The call is managed by the Department of Women and Conciliation through the Equality Service (Women’s House) and is part of the Strategic Grant Plan 2026-2028, approved on July 27, 2026. The total expenditure, 25,000 euros, will be charged to budget application 23171.48900 and distributed under a competitive bidding regime among projects for the 2026 financial year.
The extract of the call was also published in the National Grants Database with identifier 931642, whose announcement in the BOP carries the reference R. 2598. The resolution is signed by the delegated councilwoman for Women and Conciliation, Aurora Aida Goás Castro, dated September 24, 2026.
Two lines of aid and beneficiary entities
The bases establish two lines of grants, and each entity may only receive aid from one of them:
- Line A, for the promotion of gender equality and the integration of women: promotion of equality in leisure and cultural activities, progress towards a municipality free of sexist violence, and the participation of rural women in socio-cultural and awareness-raising spheres.
- Line B, for the promotion of the inclusion of affective-sexual diversity: promotion of human rights and the inclusion of LGTBIQ+ people, awareness and training, legal, educational, health, sports, and social orientation and advice, and the visibility and empowerment of the collective.
Associations, foundations, and other non-profit entities legally constituted and domiciled in the Lugo City Council, registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations or the corresponding public registry, and up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, may apply. It is also required to have justified previous municipal grants, not receive nominative aid from the 2026 budget, and not use the image of women as a lure, in accordance with plenary agreement 9/124 of June 30, 2016.
Fifteen business day deadline and evaluation criteria
Applications shall be submitted electronically, through the municipal electronic office or any enabled electronic registry, within a period of fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOP.
The Evaluation Commission will score each project with a maximum of 21 points:
- Technical quality of the project: up to 10 points.
- General interest and real impact on the population: up to 4 points.
- Training in gender and equality or affective-sexual diversity: 1 point.
- Permanent nature of the activity over the last three years: up to 2 points.
- Continuity of the project during the subsidized period: up to 2 points.
- Composition of the board of directors: up to 2 points.
Programs that do not reach 6.3 points, or 30% of the total, and applications that exceed 90% of the cost of the activity will be excluded, as the remaining 10% must be assumed by the entity. The grants are compatible with others for the same purpose, without exceeding that limit.
Processing, resolution and justification
The procedure is managed by the Equality Service and the resolution proposal is approved by the delegated councilwoman for Women and Conciliation. The maximum period for resolution and notification is six months from the day following the publication of the call; if this period passes without an express resolution, the application may be understood as rejected.
Eligible expenses include specific project personnel and indirect operating costs, such as electricity, telephone, or rent, up to a maximum of 20% of the granted aid. Investments, interest, sanctions, meals, and expenses for alcoholic beverages are excluded. Entities must use Galician in their publications and incorporate the logo of the Lugo City Council and the Women’s House in all dissemination of activities.
The call mobilizes 25,000 euros at a time when the associative fabric of Lugo depends largely on this type of aid to sustain its work in equality and diversity. The deadline of fifteen business days and the requirement for electronic submission force interested entities to prepare the documentation now so as not to miss the opportunity.
