Los Silos approves credit to repair damages from Storm Therese

The Los Silos City Council has definitively approved an extraordinary credit of 161,468.02 euros to repair the severe structural damage that Storm Therese caused to various municipal infrastructures. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, number 106, dated September 4, 2026, under reference 1808069.

The credit modification M.26.0.00030 is processed as an extraordinary credit financed by the liquid treasury surplus. Its purpose is to formally declare the repair works for the damage caused by the storm as a Financially Sustainable Investment (FSI) and to provide the necessary credit to cover the costs of its urgent and direct execution.

An extraordinary credit for recovery

The file, approved in the Town of Los Silos on August 31, 2026, responds to the need to recover the municipality’s public services following the passage of the storm. The works affect different municipal infrastructures that suffered significant structural damage, the repair of which is considered a priority to restore normality within the municipal district.

Financing with treasury surplus

The credit is fully financed by the liquid treasury surplus, without resorting to new debt. The declaration as a Financially Sustainable Investment allows the budget surplus to be allocated to these repair actions, in line with budget stability regulations.

Processing and official publication

As no objections were presented during the public exhibition period, the agreement is elevated to definitive status. The announcement is published for general knowledge for the purposes of Article 169.1, by referral of 179.4, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The document is signed by the mayor-president, Carmen Luz Baso Lorenzo.

The definitive approval of this credit allows the municipality of Los Silos to address the repair of the infrastructure damaged by Storm Therese using its own resources, guaranteeing the prompt recovery of essential public services for residents and the normalization of municipal activity after the storm.
