Los Cortijos approves its 2026 budget of 1,250,370 euros

The Los Cortijos City Council has definitively approved its general budget for the 2026 fiscal year, set at 1,250,370.41 euros for both the income and expenditure chapters. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 200, dated October 16, 2026, via announcement number 3341, with secure verification code 3ac1LGd8LAqu6N3SkGpP. The definitive approval occurs after the file passed the mandatory public exhibition process without any claims.

The budget was initially approved by the City Council Plenary in an ordinary session held on September 16, 2026, along with the execution bases and the personnel staffing table. The announcement of the initial approval was published in BOP number 180, dated September 18, 2026 (announcement number 2978), opening a fifteen-day period for claims and allegations.

The procedure is governed by Article 169 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and by Article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20. As no claims were filed, the budget was definitively approved, and the summary by chapters is now published. The document is signed by the mayor, Beatriz García López, dated October 14, 2026.

Income sustained by current transfers

The income chapter is distributed as follows:

Direct taxes: 344,191.42 euros
Indirect taxes: 12,000 euros
Fees and other income: 269,936.39 euros
Current transfers: 592,628.31 euros
Patrimonial income: 31,614.29 euros
Capital transfers: 0 euros

Current transfers account for nearly 47% of the total, making other administrations the primary source of funding for the municipality. Direct taxes contribute around 27.5% of the income, and fees and other income contribute approximately 21.6%.

Expenses: current goods and personnel

The expenditure chapter is distributed as follows:

Personnel expenses: 396,413.96 euros
Expenses on current goods: 697,623.96 euros
Financial expenses: 2,000 euros
Current transfers: 140,232.49 euros
Real investments: 14,100 euros

Spending on current goods and services absorbs nearly 55.8% of the budget, while the personnel chapter represents around 31.7%. Real investments account for barely 1.1% of the total, with 14,100 euros allocated.

The municipality is listed with the territorial code 036-9 in the province of Ciudad Real. The approval may be challenged before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction, in accordance with the requirements, formalities, and grounds set forth in articles 170 and 171 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.

The final budget for 2026 establishes the economic framework with which the City Council of Los Cortijos will face the next fiscal year: a predominantly current expenditure, a reduced staff of six positions, and a very limited investment capacity. For the residents, the published document allows them to know in detail how municipal resources are allocated and what margin exists for new actions.
