Lorena Garrón, new spokesperson for Adelante Izquierda Gaditana in Cádiz

The Cádiz City Council has dismissed David de la Cruz González as spokesperson for the Adelante Izquierda Gaditana Municipal Group and has appointed Lorena Garrón Rincón in his place, who assumes the position with exclusive dedication. The change is formalized through Mayoral Decree number 2026/3158, dated July 30, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 164, dated August 26, 2026.

The decision stems from the agreements adopted by the councilors of the municipal group, meeting on June 16, 2026, and communicated to the Plenary in its ordinary session on June 25, 2026, under item 22 of the agenda. The decree is issued by virtue of the delegation of the Mayoralty-Presidency conferred by Decree 2023/3404, dated June 22, 2023, and in accordance with Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and the Municipal Organic Regulation of the Cádiz City Council.

Dismissal and new appointment

The decree agrees, firstly, the dismissal of David de la Cruz González as spokesperson for the Adelante Izquierda Gaditana Municipal Group, effective from June 25, 2026. Secondly, it appoints Lorena Garrón Rincón as the new spokesperson for the group, effective from June 26, 2026.

• Dismissal: David de la Cruz González, outgoing spokesperson, effective June 25, 2026.
• Appointment: Lorena Garrón Rincón, new spokesperson, effective June 26, 2026.
• Coordination: David de la Cruz González will now serve as coordinator within the internal organization of the municipal group.

Exclusive dedication

The operative part of the decree assigns Lorena Garrón Rincón the regime of exclusive dedication in her capacity as spokesperson for the Adelante Izquierda Gaditana Municipal Group. Previously, the Mayor of Cádiz had approved the regime of exclusive dedication on July 10 for the then-spokesperson, David de la Cruz González, a regime that is now transferred to the new spokesperson.

The measure is adopted in accordance with the Local Regime legislation and the Municipal Organic Regulation, and is communicated to the Mayoralty-Presidency, the General Secretariat, and the competent municipal services for their recording and appropriate effects.

Relevance of the change

The handover of the spokesperson role for Adelante Izquierda Gaditana represents an internal reorganization of the municipal group in the Cádiz City Council, with Lorena Garrón Rincón leading the representation and David de la Cruz González relocated as coordinator. The assignment of exclusive dedication to the new spokesperson reinforces her full commitment to municipal activity, a change that the residents of Cádiz will observe in the group’s dialogue within the Plenary and in local political life.
