Por FactBox Admin

The Loja City Council has initially approved the modification of the ordinance for the processing of licenses and registries for potentially dangerous animals, an agreement adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation in an ordinary session on August 6, 2026. The edict is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 209, dated October 28, 2026, with the official reference BOP-GRA-2026-209017. The text will be on display for thirty days so that interested parties may examine the file and submit any allegations they deem appropriate.
The processed file is 2026/775 and its promotion corresponds to the Deputy Mayor Delegated for the Environment, according to the plenary agreement. The announcement falls within the area of Economy and Finance of the Council and is published as an edict for general knowledge, signed by the Deputy Mayor Delegated for Economy, Finance, and Governance, Érica Rodríguez Morón.
Approval by simple majority, with abstentions
The Plenary approved the modification by simple majority, in accordance with article 99.1 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28, which approves the Regulation on the organization, operation, and legal regime of Local Entities. The vote distribution was as follows:
- Vote in favor of the members present affiliated with the Popular Municipal Group.
- Abstention of the members present from the Socialist Municipal Group.
- Abstention of the member present affiliated with VOX.
Thirty days of exhibition and allegations
The agreement and the ordinance will be displayed for a period of thirty days on the municipal notice board. During this period, interested parties may examine the file and submit claims. An announcement regarding the opening of this period will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province and in one of the widest-circulation newspapers in the province.
The edict specifies that, if no claims have been submitted after this period, the agreement will be considered definitively approved. The processing is supported by article 17.1 and 2 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5.
Regulatory framework for ownership
The ordinance refers to the processing of municipal licenses and registries for potentially dangerous animals, a subject developed at the state level by Law 50/1999, of December 23, and Royal Decree 287/2002, of March 22, and at the regional level by Decree 42/2008, of February 12, which regulates the ownership of these animals in Andalusia, together with Law 7/2023 on the protection of animal rights and welfare.
The edict does not reproduce the articles of the amendment nor does it detail the specific changes introduced to the municipal regulation; therefore, its content must be consulted in file 2026/775 during the public information period. The announcement also does not indicate the number of licenses or animals currently registered in the municipality.
The relevance of the procedure is direct for owners of potentially dangerous animals registered in Loja, who will see the conditions for the application and registration of their licenses modified. The thirty-day period is the only provided means of participation before the ordinance is definitively approved and becomes fully applicable in the municipality.
