Loja convoca siete plazas de Policía Local por oposición y movilidad

The Loja City Council has approved the guidelines that will govern the selection of seven vacant Local Police positions, six of them through the open competitive examination system and one through mobility via a merit-based competition. The call, signed on August 31, 2026, by the deputy mayor delegated for Human Resources, José Barea de la Osa, is published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 175, dated September 10, 2026, with reference BOP-GRA-2026-175012.

The positions, assigned to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Local Police category, are classified under Group C, Subgroup C1. The call responds to the 2025 Public Employment Offer (two positions), approved by Mayoral Decree on May 27, 2025, and that of 2026 (five positions), approved by Mayoral Decree on June 10, 2026, published in the BOP of Granada number 107, dated July 9, 2025, and number 117, dated June 22, 2026.

Distribution of positions and access systems

The selection combines two entry routes into the Loja Local Police force:

  • Six positions through the open competitive examination system.
  • One position through mobility without promotion, via a merit-based competition.
  • If the mobility position remains vacant due to a lack of applicants, it will be added to the open call.

The process is governed by Law 6/2023, of July 7, on Local Police of Andalusia, and by Decree 8/2026, of January 28, which regulates the entry, internal promotion, mobility, and training of personnel in the Local Police forces of Andalusia.

Requirements and submission of applications

For the open call, applicants must meet the following requirements before the final day for submitting applications:

  • Possess Spanish nationality and be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a Baccalaureate, Technician degree, or equivalent.
  • Hold driving licenses of classes A2 and B and commit to driving police vehicles.
  • Commit to carrying weapons and, where applicable, using them.
  • Have no criminal record for intentional crimes nor have been dismissed from service.

For the mobility position, it is required to be in active service in the police category and prove five years of seniority as a career civil servant. Applications, addressed to the mayor, must be submitted within twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official State Gazette, after its full publication in the BOP and the summary in the BOJA. The examination fee amounts to 27.80 euros.

Selection process

In the competitive phase, applicants must pass physical, psychometric, knowledge, and aptitude tests related to police functions, as well as a medical examination. The first exercise will consist of a 100-question multiple-choice questionnaire and a practical case study, followed by physical aptitude tests. The qualifying tribunal will be composed of a presidency, three members, and a secretariat, with two of its members belonging to the Local Police forces of Andalusia.

The call for applications represents a significant public employment opportunity for the Loja region and for the applicants of the force, by reinforcing the Local Police staff with seven new recruits. Interested parties may consult the full terms and conditions on the City Council’s electronic office and on the municipal notice board.
