Llodio opens 10,000 euro grants to boost local production

The Local Governing Board of the Llodio City Council has approved, by agreement dated July 31, 2026, the call for open-competition grants for the revitalization and promotion of local production in the municipality during the year 2026. The call, endowed with 10,000.00 euros, is published in the Official Gazette of the Historical Territory of Álava (BOTHA) number 100, dated September 2, 2026, with identifier BDNS 926322.

The aid line is part of the municipal strategy to support rural development and aims to boost the economy of the local primary sector, curbing the trend of abandonment of rural activity. Individual or collective initiatives oriented towards the promotion, revitalization, and sale of products produced or processed in the Aiaraldea region or in the geographical region of Alto Nervión will be financed, provided they are marketed at some point of sale in Llodio.

Purpose and eligible expenses

The grants are awarded on a competitive basis through the Economic Promotion Area and its sub-area of Social Economy and Primary Sector, charged to budget application 0502-4312-471.00 of the 2026 municipal budget. The maximum grant per beneficiary is 10,000.00 euros.

The following expenses are eligible:

Promotional material for sellers, activity spaces, products, and projects.
Aesthetic improvement of the point of sale, the brand, or the product presentation.
Professionalization: training, consultancy, and activity improvement.
Innovation, digitalization, and boost projects for the livestock and agri-food sector.
Organization of activity programs and initiatives linked to the purpose.
Communication and signage on social networks and media.
Voucher programs and other directly linked expenses.

Indirect costs may not exceed 15 percent of direct costs. Excluded, among others, are per diems for beneficiaries, gifts to speakers, cash prizes without withholding, fines, and expenses for lunches or community meals.

Beneficiaries and evaluation criteria

Natural persons and associations or entities that meet the purpose of the call may apply for the grants. Associations must have their registered office in Llodio, be legally constituted and registered in the General Registry of Associations of the Basque Government, be non-profit, and be registered in the municipal registry of associations.

The evaluation is based on a maximum of 100 points:

Quality and suitability of the proposals to boost sales, energize channels, and improve the image of the point of sale (up to 60 points).
Innovative, original, or creative nature (up to 15 points).
Proposals presented at a collective level (up to 15 points).
Activities involving women from the primary sector (10 points).

Proposals with fewer than 25 points will be excluded from the call.

Deadlines and processing

Applications must be submitted within twenty business days from the day following the publication in the BOTHA, using standardized form E10.14 electronically or at the Citizen Service Office (SAC). The maximum period for resolution and notification is three months from publication, and the resolution shall terminate the administrative process.

The call is governed by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, its implementing regulation approved by Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, and the Municipal Regulatory Ordinance on Subsidies of the Llodio City Council (BOTHA number 28, of March 10, 2021).

The call represents a direct boost to producers, livestock farmers, and local businesses in Llodio, reinforcing direct sales and local consumption at a time when rural abandonment threatens the primary sector of the region. With this line, the council commits to keeping local agricultural and livestock activity alive and consolidating the points of sale for products from Aiaraldea and the Upper Nervión.
