Provisional lists for the Galicia Local Police competitive examination

The Galician Academy of Public Security (AGASP) has approved and published the provisional lists of admitted and excluded persons in the selective process for access via open competition (procedure code PR461B) to the bodies of the Local Police of Galicia, basic scale, police category. This is stated in the Resolution of September 8, 2026, signed by the general director of AGASP, Santiago Villanueva Álvarez, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 171, of September 9, 2026.

The call for this process derives from the Order of July 21, 2026, published in DOG number 143, of July 31, 2026, which approves the general regulating bases and calls for both access via open competition (PR461B) and the provision process via mobility (PR461D) in the bodies of the Local Police of Galicia. Once the application submission period ended, the general director resolved to approve the provisional lists.

Consultation of the lists

The lists can be consulted through the official website of the Galician Academy of Public Security (https://agasp.xunta.gal), where three lists are published:

• The provisional list of admitted applicants.
• The provisional list of excluded applicants, indicating the determining cause of their exclusion.
• The provisional list of persons exempt and not exempt from taking the Galician language knowledge test.

Deadline to amend exclusions

Excluded persons and those not exempt from the Galician language knowledge test will have a period of ten business days, counted from the day following the publication of this resolution in the Official Gazette of Galicia, to amend, if applicable, the defect that motivated the exclusion or the non-exemption from the test.

Applicants who appear neither on the list of admitted nor on the list of excluded persons will have the same period to file claims. Those who, within the indicated period, do not amend the defects that motivated their exclusion will be definitively excluded from the process.

Relevance of the process

This call affects thousands of applicants opting for a police position in the basic scale of the local bodies of Galicia, one of the largest selective processes in the Galician municipal sphere. The amendment period is a key opportunity for those who detect a formal error in their application, therefore it is recommended to carefully review the lists published on the AGASP website before the ten-business-day period expires.
