The call for applications is processed through an open competitive examination system (concurso-oposición), and its rules were published in full in the BOP of Badajoz number 107, dated June 8, 2026. The resolution, adopted by the Mayor’s Office, is signed by the Fourth Deputy Mayor, Eladio Buzo Corzo, by virtue of the delegation conferred by the decree of February 2, 2024.

After the application period ended, the provisional list includes a total of 101 applicants, of whom 71 have been admitted and 30 excluded for various reasons. Deadline and procedures
Excluded applicants, as well as those omitted from the list, will have a period of ten business days to rectify defects and submit claims, counting from the day following the publication in the gazette. Those who have detected errors in the entry of their personal data may likewise bring this to light within the same period.
Those who do not remedy the defect that led to their exclusion nor file a claim justifying their right to be included will be definitively excluded from the selection process. The publication of the final list and the scheduling of the tests will be announced through the official channels of the City Council.
The call for applications reinforces the staff of the Badajoz Fire Service, a body essential for the security and emergency response of the city. The incorporation of five new communications operators, as career civil servants, guarantees the stability and continuity of a key public service; therefore, the result of this selection process will be closely followed by the applicants and by the municipal corporation itself.
