Final list of 43 First Officer positions in Fuerteventura

Por FactBox Admin

The Fuerteventura Water Supply Consortium (CAAF) has approved the definitive list of admitted and excluded candidates for filling 43 positions of First Officer, group D, through internal promotion and a competitive-examination system. Resolution number 935/2026 of the managing director, signed on 12 August 2026, also establishes the selection board and the date of the examination, 8 September. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 97, of 14 August 2026, page 14650 (record 1715484).

The 43 positions, vacant in the consortium’s workforce of labour personnel, bring together the Public Employment Offers for 2022, 2025 and 2026, making the process one of the highest-volume calls held by the entity, which is responsible for the water supply of the island of Fuerteventura. The procedure is governed by the General Rules approved by the General Assembly of the Consortium on 13 January 2025, published in issue number 8 of this gazette, of 17 January 2025, and by Article 60 of the consolidated text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October). The agreement, electronically signed by delegation (P.D., Decree number 453/2023, of 29 June), was adopted in Puerto del Rosario on 12 August 2026.

Lists of admitted and excluded candidates

The definitive list of admitted candidates comprises 37 applicants, while the list of excluded candidates includes four candidates. Two of the exclusions are due to rectifiable defects and the other two to non-rectifiable reasons:

  • Cabrera Carmona, Christian: The academic qualification provided does not meet the requirement (rectifiable).
  • Gil García, Rayco: Request for refund of the examination fee (rectifiable).
  • Díaz Potente, José: Does not prove the status of permanent labour employee or career civil servant of the CAAF (non-rectifiable).
  • Vera Cabrera, Cristian: Does not prove the status of permanent labour employee or career civil servant of the CAAF (non-rectifiable).

Selection board

The board appointed to judge the process is composed of:

  • Chair: principal Ana Rosa Benítez Barrios; alternate Dunia María de Saa Torres.
  • Secretary: principal Javier Fuentes Rodríguez; alternate Jorge Cabrera Barragán.
  • Committee members: principals María de la Peña Aguiar Padilla, Asunción Guardia Mateo and Rafael Melián Martínez; alternates Juana María Montañez de León, Luis Ubay Martín Betancor and Iriome Ramírez González.

Examination on 8 September

The only test of the competitive examination phase, theoretical in nature, will be held on September 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the assembly hall of the Centro Insular de Juventud of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura. The order of appearance of the candidates will begin with those whose first surname begins with the letter “U”, in accordance with the draw published by the Secretary of State for Civil Service in the Official State Gazette number 184, of August 1, 2025.

Publication and appeals

In accordance with rule 7.2 of the General Rules, the final list is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, on the CAAF notice board, at its citizen service offices, and on the website www.caaf.es. This decision exhausts administrative remedies: against it, an optional appeal for reconsideration may be lodged within one month before the same body, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months before the Administrative Courts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

With this resolution, CAAF closes the administrative phase of a process that will consolidate 43 First Officer positions in its workforce, one of the largest personnel reinforcements for Fuerteventura’s public water service in recent years, and starts the countdown to the September 8 exam, whose results will determine the awarding of the posts from the three accumulated job offers.
