Linares approves the water and garbage registry for the third quarter
Por FactBox Admin

The Linares City Council has approved the register for the non-tax public patrimonial benefit for drinking water supply, sewerage, and wastewater treatment, along with that for the waste collection, transport, and treatment service, corresponding to the third quarter of 2026 in the second zone of the municipality. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 181, dated September 17, 2026, with reference 2026/4139. The voluntary payment period will remain open from September 4 to October 5, 2026, both inclusive.
Who approves it and with what backing
The approval was formalized through Resolution 2026-4160 by the Councilor-Delegate of Finance, José Luis Roldán Sánchez, issued on September 2, 2026, by virtue of the powers assumed by delegation from the Mayor’s Office. The edict is inserted in the Local Administration section of the provincial gazette, on page 13794.
The document details the regulatory framework applicable to the collection:
- General Tax Law, articles 126.3.a) and 127.1, as amended by Law 25/1995, of July 20.
- General Collection Regulations (RD 1684/1990, of December 20), articles 91 and following.
- Law Regulating Local Treasuries, article 14.2, for the process of allegations and appeal for reversal.
How and where to pay
The debt must be settled within the voluntary period at the designated banking entities or at the ATM located outside the Linaqua offices, at number 8 Alemania Street, available 24 hours a day. Public service at that office is provided Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Once the deadline has passed without payment being made, the enforcement procedure will begin, with the consequent accrual of the enforcement surcharge and late payment interest. The register will also be open to the public for one month for examination, during which time interested parties may submit allegations or an appeal for reversal.
Second zone following the first
The publication completes the municipality’s quarterly calendar, as the first zone was resolved weeks earlier. That register, processed by Resolution 6298/2026 of August 12, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 166, of August 27, 2026, page 13052, with reference 2026/3925, and set its own voluntary period between August 4 and September 4, 2026. In both cases, the signing body and the payment scheme are identical, with Linaqua as the point of reference for taxpayers.
The impact of this announcement is direct for the residents of the second zone of Linares included in the registry: they have exactly one month, until October 5, to pay the water, sewerage, purification, and waste collection bills without additional cost. After that date, the enforcement surcharge and late payment interest will increase the cost of the bill, so it is advisable to verify inclusion in the registry and resolve any doubts at the Linaqua office before the deadline expires.
