The text was signed by the delegated secretary, Fernando Gonzalo Sánchez, on October 27.

A budget of 11.4 million with personnel as the primary expense

The General Budget integrates the income and expenditure statements of the Consortium and is presented as balanced: the income and expenditure figures coincide at 11,406,205.00 euros. Regarding expenditure, the largest item is personnel, which absorbs more than half of the total.

  • Expenses for current goods and services (chapter 2): 4,842,160.00 euros

The entity does not foresee income from direct or indirect taxes.

Staff of 95 positions, with 29 vacancies

Along with the budget, the General Council initially approved the staff and the list of job positions effective from January 1, 2027. The total staff adds up to 95 positions: 21 civil servants and 74 contractual staff. The gender distribution is 51 women and 15 men, and there are 29 vacant positions, nearly one third of the total.

  • Civil service staff: 21 positions (4 women, 1 man, 16 vacancies)

The list of job positions is organized into units of General Directorate, Sub-directorate-Management, Legal Unit, Human Resources and Organization, Economic Resources, Information Systems, Maintenance and Facilities, Museum Assistants and Educational Programs, and includes the position of general director as professional management staff with a senior management contract.

Fifteen business days to submit claims

The processing complies with article 169.1 of the Revised Text of the Law regulating local treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, in relation to article 126.1 of the Revised Text of the local regime (Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18) and article 26 of the Regulations for personnel in the service of local entities (Decree 214/1990, of July 30).

The Budget and the staff list are submitted for public information for fifteen business days counted from the day after the publication of the announcement in the BOPB and on the Consortium’s notice board. Allegations must be presented before the General Council. If none are registered, both documents will be definitively approved; if there are any, the General Council will have one month to resolve them.

The figure of 11.4 million makes the Consortium one of the most relevant cultural entities with its own budget in the Barcelona metropolitan area and sets the spending ceiling for the Maritime Museum for all of 2027, with the bulk of the resources destined for payroll and ordinary operations. The public exhibition period is the only formal window for entities and citizens to question the distribution of the items before the budget becomes final.
