The Corts validate the extension of transport discounts until December

The Plenary of Les Corts Valencianes has validated Decree-law 6/2026, of June 26, of the Consell, which extends until December 31, 2026, the temporary fare reductions in certain public transport services that fall under the competence of the Generalitat. The decision, adopted in the plenary meeting on July 31, 2026, is recorded in Resolution 407/XI, published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana number 10,434, of August 21, 2026.

The validation was processed in accordance with Article 139 of the Regulations of Les Corts Valencianes, following the debate on the decree-law, and is based on Article 44.4 of the Statute of Autonomy of the Comunitat Valenciana, Articles 18.d) and 58 of Law 5/1983, of December 30, of the Consell, and the aforementioned Article 139 of the Regulations. The resolution, which also had to be published in the official bulletin according to Article 139.3.5º of the Regulations, bears registration number 78,620.

Scope of the measure

Decree-law 6/2026 maintains the temporary discounts on the fares of public transport services managed by the Generalitat, a measure that affects all users of Valencian public transport. The extension extends its application until December 31, 2026, guaranteeing the continuity of the discounts during the final stretch of the year.

The parliamentary validation confirms the validity of the regulation without the need for processing as a bill, as it is a decree-law approved by the Consell in a situation of urgency.

The resolution is signed by the president of Les Corts Valencianes, Llanos Massó Linares, and by the first secretary, Víctor Soler Beneyto, at the Palau de Les Corts Valencianes, in València, on July 31, 2026.
