Les Borges Blanques opens 3,000 euro grants for federated athletes

The Les Borges Blanques City Council has announced grants for a total amount of 3,000 euros intended for non-professional athletes from the municipality who participate in Spanish, European, or World championships, or the Olympic Games during the year 2026. The call was approved by the Local Governing Board in the session of September 9, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida number 180, of September 21, 2026, with the CVE BOP-2026_0_180_7743 and edict number 7743.

The call is disseminated as an extract from the National Grants Database, with the identifier BDNS 929613, in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted at the portal infosubvenciones.es. The specific regulations governing it were initially approved by the Plenary of the Les Borges Blanques City Council on May 26, 2022, and definitively on July 14, 2022, and were published in full in the BOP of Lleida number 134, of July 14, 2022.

Purpose and beneficiaries

The call regulates the procedure for granting subsidies under a non-competitive regime, meaning without comparison between applications, and they will be awarded in order of submission until the available credit is exhausted.

The requirements to access them are:

• To be a non-professional and federated athlete.
• To be registered as a resident in the municipality of Les Borges Blanques.
• To participate individually, following qualification, in Spanish, European, or World championships.
• To compete in any sporting modality.
• To submit a maximum of two applications per beneficiary.

Applications are addressed via a standardized form to the mayor of the Les Borges Blanques City Council and can be submitted through any of the means permitted under current legislation.

Scale of amounts and territorial limits

The financial allocation of the call is 3,000.00 euros and is charged to the budget application 341 48079 of the expenditure statement of the 2026 budget. The amounts to be received are established according to the following scale:

• Spanish, European, or World championships held in Spanish territory: 300.00 euros.
• European championships held outside Spanish territory: 400.00 euros.
• World championships held outside Spanish territory: 500.00 euros.

Championships held within Catalan territory or those taking place less than 250 kilometers from Les Borges Blanques will not be subsidized. In the case of European or World championships held in the Canary Islands, they will be considered as held outside Spanish territory.

Deadlines and processing

The application period begins the day after the publication of the call in the BOP of Lleida and ends on November 30, 2026. The processing of the procedure is the responsibility of the Intervention Services, which will issue a reasoned report on the assessment and suitability of the applications, and the Local Governing Board shall resolve on the granting.

Other planned deadlines and conditions are:

• Maximum period to resolve and notify the resolution: one month from the submission of the application.
• Justification period: one month from the completion of the activity.
• Participation in the championship must take place during the year 2026.
• Participations prior to the publication of the call are accepted provided they occurred from January 1, 2026, onwards.

The measure provides direct financial coverage to families and clubs in Les Borges Blanques that assume the travel and registration expenses of athletes competing outside Catalonia, and recognizes the sporting level achieved by local participants in national and international competitions.
