León publica la lista provisional de candidatos a jurado del bienio 2027/2028

The Provincial Court of León has published the provisional list of jury candidates for the 2027/2028 biennium, a list that includes residents from across the entire province and makes them potential members of a jury court. The announcement is included in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 206, dated October 29, 2026, with the official reference BOP-LE-2026-206025, and spans pages 62 to 76 of the issue, under the heading “Provisional list of jury candidates, 2027/2028 biennium.”

The document was signed in León on October 28, 2026, by the lawyer of the Provincial Court, Ana María Gómez-Villaboa Pérez, and is headed with the details of the Electoral Census Office of the province of León. The regulation governing the procedure is Organic Law 5/1995, on the Jury Court, expressly invoked in the prior announcement of the draw.

From the September draw to the October list

The process began a month earlier: the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office in León announced in the Official Gazette of the Province number 171, dated September 8, 2026, that the draw to form the lists of jury candidates for the 2027-2028 biennium would be held in the Room of the 3rd Section of the Provincial Court of León on September 25 at 1:00 PM. That announcement was signed by the provincial delegate, José Ignacio Alonso Cimadevilla.

The provisional list now being released stems from that draw, with a validity period expressly set in the heading: until December 31, 2028. In other words, those appearing on the final list may be summoned as jurors until the close of that period.

How the list is structured

The announcement reproduces the complete nominal list, with the following elements in each entry:

  • Sequential order number for the entire province, starting at 0000419 and reaching 0370027.
  • First surname, second surname, and first name of the candidate.
  • DNI (National ID) recorded with the central digits hidden, in a protected format.
  • Municipality of residence, which acts as the heading for each block and is repeated throughout the fourteen pages.

The document incorporates the secure verification code E04799402-PF:3Anb-atMV-CbqB-CHcw-V and refers to the electronic judicial headquarters for verification.

León and Ponferrada concentrate the largest blocks

The distribution follows the demographic weight of the province. The locations with the most candidates are:

  • León, with the largest block in the list.
  • Ponferrada, San Andrés del Rabanedo, and Villaquilambre, with also extensive lists.
  • Astorga, La Bañeza, Bembibre, Cacabelos, Sahagún, Villablino, Villafranca del Bierzo, Valencia de Don Juan, and Sariegos.

Alongside them appear dozens of municipalities and smaller entities with one, two, or three candidates: Alija del Infantado, Antigua (La), Ardón, Arganza, Barrios de Luna (Los), Benuza, Boca de Huérgano, Brañuelo, Burón, Cebanico, Destriana, Ercina (La), Magaz de Cepeda, Matallana de Torío, Onzonilla, Páramo del Sil, Posada de Valdeón, Riaño, Riello, Sena de Luna, Soto y Amío, Toral de los Vados, Vegas del Condado, or Villamanín, among others.

The text is limited to a nominal enumeration: its wording does not include a period for allegations or a claims process against inclusion in the list.

What it means to appear on the list

Being included in this provisional list makes the resident a candidate to be summoned by the Provincial Court of León to form a jury tribunal for cases held in the province during the biennium. The list covers residents of urban municipalities and small villages in the Leonese rural environment, meaning the summons can fall upon any point on the provincial map.
