León convoca cuatro plazas de Cabo de bomberos por concurso de méritos

The León City Council has approved the rules and the call for the provision, through an ordinary merit competition, of four Corporal positions within the Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue Service. The decision was adopted via Resolution of September 4, 2026, by the Delegate Councilor for Internal Affairs, Human Resources, Mobility, and Sports, and is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 180, dated September 16, 2026.

The announced positions belong to the Special Scale, Special Services Subscale, Fire Extinction Service Class, classified within Group C, Subgroup C1, and are assigned to the Citizen Protection Area. The call is processed under file 2026.501001.RRHH.25530, initiated ex officio due to the need to permanently fill positions temporarily held under service commissions and other immediate vacancies.

Offered Positions

The four Corporal positions correspond to the following codes of the Job Position List, all with a level 18 destination supplement and a specific supplement of 53:

  • 30.0.02.0.0.1009 (order 80488)
  • 30.0.02.0.0.1012 (order 80491)
  • 30.0.02.0.0.1013 (order 80492)
  • 30.0.02.0.0.1014 (order 80493)

Requirements and Submission of Applications

Career civil servants of the León City Council in the category of Firefighter, in any administrative situation except those with final suspensions, may participate, provided they meet the requirements of the call. Generally, a minimum of two years since taking possession of the last permanent destination is required.

  • The deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official State Gazette.
  • The application may be submitted electronically via the Electronic Office of the León City Council or in person at the General Registry.
  • The minimum score required for the awarding of a position is 1.75 points.

Merit Assessment and Resolution

The assessment will be carried out by a collegiate technical Assessment Commission, composed of career civil servants, who will score merits according to the scale of the rules:

  • Seniority: up to 5 points.
  • Personal grade: up to 1.75 points.
  • Work developed: up to 2.25 points.
  • Training and professional development courses: up to 1.50 points.
  • Work-family balance: up to 1.50 points.

The deadline to resolve the competition will be two months from the end of the application submission period, and the taking of possession must take place within the three business days following the cessation of the original position.

Relevance of the Call

The call for applications strengthens the command structure of the municipal fire department of León, definitively consolidating four Corporal positions that until now were filled on a temporary basis. For officials in the Firefighter category, it represents an opportunity for internal promotion within the City Council’s Special Scale, in a process governed by the principles of equality, merit, capacity, and publicity.
