Álava aprueba las bases de subvenciones a la movilidad sostenible

The Provincial Government Council of Álava approved in its ordinary session on September 1, 2026, Provincial Decree 31/2026, which approves the general regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies awarded within the scope of the competencies of the Directorate of Mobility and Transport regarding sustainable mobility. The agreement was made known through the summary of provisions published in the Official Gazette of the Historical Territory of Álava (BOTHA) number 103, dated September 9, 2026, with official reference 2026-02544.

A regulatory framework for future aid

The regulation, promoted by the Department of Sustainable Mobility and Road Infrastructure, establishes the common legal regime that will govern the granting of sustainable mobility aid in the historical territory. As these are general regulatory bases, the decree sets the conditions, requirements, and procedures that will apply to future calls for subsidies in this matter.

The official summary includes the provision within the block of provincial decrees approved by the Provincial Government Council in the same session, along with other procurement and institutional collaboration agreements.

Scope of the provision

The approved bases affect the subsidies granted within the jurisdictional scope of the Directorate of Mobility and Transport, the body responsible for managing the transport and mobility policies of the territory. Among the areas that may benefit from the new framework are:

  • the promotion of sustainable and low-emission modes of transport;
  • the promotion of public transport and active mobility;
  • the renewal of fleets and the improvement of mobility infrastructures;
  • digitalization and efficiency projects in transport.

Relevance for the territory

With this approval, Álava provides a stable and predictable framework for the sustainable mobility subsidy policy, which will facilitate the processing of future calls and provide legal certainty to both the administration and potential beneficiaries. The provision is part of the provincial strategy for the transition toward cleaner and more efficient mobility, in line with the sustainability objectives of the historical territory.
