The business subsidies of the Canary Islands are expanded by an additional 5.17 million.

Por FactBox Admin

The Government of the Canary Islands has increased by EUR 5,171,000.00 the allocation for Line 3 of the grant programme for improving competitiveness, sustainability, business creation and growth in the Canary Islands, thereby raising it from EUR 5,000,000.00 to EUR 10,171,000.00. The decision comes from the Directorate General for Economic Promotion and Diversification, attached to the Department of Economy, Industry, Trade and Self-Employed Workers, and its extract is published in issue No. 163 of the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, dated 14 August 2026 (announcement 2938).

The increase amends the call approved by Resolution No. 2010/2026 of 15 May 2026, which opened the procedure for granting these aid measures for fiscal year 2026, aimed at the business community of the islands. The programme is co-financed at 85% by the European Union within the framework of the ERDF Canary Islands Programme 2021-2027.

The extract is published in accordance with Articles 17.3(b) and 20.8(a) of Law 38/2003 of 17 November, General Law on Subsidies, and the full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS) under identification number 906076.

An increase of 103% over the initial allocation

The authorised increase amounts to EUR 5,171,000.00, which is equivalent to an increase of 103.42% over the initial allocation for the call, set at EUR 5,000,000.00. With this modification, the total funding for Line 3 is established at EUR 10,171,000.00, that is, more than double the initially available funds.

The resolution, signed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 31 July 2026 by the Director General, Manuel Alexis Oliva Hernández, leaves the remaining conditions of the May call unchanged.

No new application period

The modification does not imply the opening of a new period for submitting applications. As the extract itself states, only applications submitted within the period established by the original call resolution will be considered in the assessment process for the award decision.

In practice, the increase benefits only those Canary Islands companies that already applied to Line 3: those who did not submit an application at the time cannot now join.
