Las Navas del Marqués opens the application period for substitute justice of the peace

The City Council of Las Navas del Marqués has opened the application period for residents of the municipality to apply for the position of substitute justice of the peace, a judicial appointment that must be proposed by the Plenary of the Municipal Corporation. The call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila, number 1837/26, dated September 16, 2026, and sets a deadline of thirty calendar days to submit applications.

The decision is adopted in compliance with Articles 101 and 102 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary, which regulate the appointment of justices of the peace and their substitutes in municipalities where there is no own court. The Plenary will propose the name of the resident who should hold the position to the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León.

Who can apply

All residents of Las Navas del Marqués who meet the conditions required by law for the performance of the position may submit their candidacy. Applications, written according to the model available at the City Council, must be delivered to the municipal Secretariat within the specified period.

The period of thirty calendar days is calculated from the day following the publication of the edict in the official provincial gazette; therefore, the application period is open from September 17, 2026.

Along with the application, interested parties must provide the following documentation:

• Literal birth certificate.
• Certified photocopy of the National Identity Document.
• Documents accrediting their merits or the degrees they hold.
• Criminal record certificate.
• Complementary declaration of civic conduct issued by this City Council.
