The Cortes of Aragon announce a digital communication scholarship for postgraduate students

The Board of the Cortes de Aragón has announced a public competition for the granting of a training and internship scholarship in digital communication and social networks intended for postgraduates in Information Sciences. The agreement was adopted in the session of September 3, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of Aragón number 181, dated September 17, 2026, in section II, Authorities and Personnel, with the official reference BOA20260917007.

Twelve months and 13,800 euros per year

The purpose of the scholarship is the planning, creation, adaptation, publication, updating, and monitoring of content for the Chamber’s institutional profiles, as well as support for the President’s Office in coordination with the Communication and Participation Service. The period of enjoyment will be twelve months, from November 1, 2026, to October 31, 2027, with the possibility of an extension for one year upon prior agreement of both parties and according to budget availability.

The annual endowment is 13,800.00 euros for 30 weekly hours of training, with the following breakdown by fiscal year:

• Fiscal year 2026: 2,300.00 euros.
• Fiscal year 2027: 11,500.00 euros.

Payment is made monthly in arrears, with the corresponding IRPF (personal income tax) and Social Security contributions withheld. The beneficiary will be registered in the General Social Security Regime in accordance with Royal Decree 1493/2011, of October 24, and the scholarship is incompatible with any other paid work or similar aid.

Requirements and selection process

Spanish citizens and citizens of other European Union member states who hold a Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, or equivalent qualifications may apply for the scholarship. Among the required conditions are not having enjoyed other scholarships from the Cortes de Aragón in previous years, having full legal capacity to act, not being subject to the exclusions of article 13 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and being up to date with tax and Social Security obligations.

The selection takes place in two phases: an assessment of merits and a personal interview, to which a maximum of ten candidates will be admitted. The scale distributes 10 points:

• Academic record of the required degree: maximum 3 points.
• Studies and courses related to the purpose of the scholarship: maximum 1.50 points.
• Experience in similar activities: maximum 2 points.
• Language knowledge: maximum 1.50 points.
• Personal interview: maximum 2 points.

The instructing body is the Communication and Participation Service of the General Secretariat of the Cortes de Aragón, while the resolution corresponds to the Board of the Cortes de Aragón, which will have a maximum period of three months from the end of the application period.

Selection Committee and Submission of Applications

The Selection Committee is listed in Annex II of the call and will be composed of:

• Chair: Carmen Agüeras Angulo, lawyer for the Cortes de Aragón.
• Member: Isabel Poncela Laborda, dean of the Professional College of Journalists of Aragón.
• Secretary: Jerónimo Blasco Jáuregui, head of the Communication and Participation Service of the Cortes de Aragón.

Acting as alternates will be Olga Herráiz Serrano, lawyer for the Cortes de Aragón; Esther Aniento Idoype, vice-dean of the Professional College of Journalists of Aragón; and Víctor Gil Puértolas, journalist for the Cortes de Aragón.

The application period is ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of Aragón. Applications may be submitted through the electronic office of the Cortes de Aragón, under the procedure “Communication and Participation Scholarships”; in person at the General Registry of the Chamber, in the Aljafería Palace (50004 Zaragoza); by certified mail, with notification on the same day to comunicacion@cortesaragon.es; or by any of the means listed in Article 16 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. The agreement is signed by the president of the Cortes de Aragón, María Navarro Viscasillas.

A Gateway for Young Journalists

The call offers recent graduates in Information Sciences a first paid professional experience in a parliamentary institution, with a dedication of 30 hours per week, annual vacations of at least thirty calendar days, and a final certificate from the General Secretariat of the Cortes de Aragón. The scholarship covers tasks of increasing demand in legislative chambers, such as video editing, digital photography, infographics, and the management of institutional social networks, and places the digital coverage of the Presidency’s activity at the center of the learning process.
