Lanaja inicia la toma de posesión de las fincas de la concentración parcelaria

The Provincial Service of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of Huesca, under the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of the Government of Aragon, has resolved to grant possession of the replacement estates from the land consolidation of the Lanaja (Huesca) irrigation area. The notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca No. 201, dated October 20, 2026, in the Autonomous Administration section (page 130), with the official reference BOPH-2026-201037. The resolution opens a thirty-day period for owners to claim possible differences in area.

The framework: a 2016 decree and the 1973 agrarian law

The land consolidation of the Lanaja irrigation area was declared of public utility and urgent execution by Decree 33/2016, of March 22, of the General Deputation of Aragon, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon No. 62, of April 1, 2016. The file processed by the Provincial Service is numbered 4637.

According to the announcement, the taking of possession is agreed upon once the appeals filed against the land consolidation Agreement of Lanaja have been resolved and the resurveying of the replacement estates has been carried out. The decision is supported by the Agrarian Reform and Development Law of January 12, 1973, the regulation governing the procedure for the delivery of the new parcels.

The delivery date and pending harvests

The notice sets the date of possession as the day following the final publication of the announcement in any of these three media:

  • the Official Gazette of Aragon;
  • the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca;
  • the notice board of the Lanaja City Council.

An exception is established for parcels with harvests pending collection in the current campaign: they will be understood as delivered to the new owners as soon as the harvest is carried out, with a deadline of December 31, 2026.

Thirty days to claim area differences

Article 221 of the Agrarian Reform and Development Law enables interested parties to claim, within thirty days following the availability of the estates, regarding differences exceeding 2% between the area of the new parcels and that recorded in the consolidation file. The claim must be accompanied by an expert report.

During this same period, a boundary map will be displayed for consultation by interested parties at the premises designated by the Lanaja City Council and on the Government of Aragon website.

Roads and forest lands

As long as the planned works and improvements in the area are not executed, the current roads necessary to access the new estates must be maintained. For the preparation of the plots, the breaking and cultivation of forest-use lands shall comply with the resolution of June 14, 2023, from the Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (INAGA), which formulated the environmental impact statement of the project promoted by the General Directorate of Rural Development, and with Legislative Decree 1/2017, of June 20, which approves the consolidated text of the Forest Law of Aragon.

The announcement was signed in Huesca on October 8, 2026, by the director of the Provincial Service, Emilio Betrán Escartín.

The publication closes one of the most anticipated phases for the consolidated farmers of Lanaja, who from now on will be able to occupy and cultivate their new plots after years of processing. The delivery schedule and the claim period condition the planning of the next irrigation campaign in the area, therefore, the holders must remain attentive both to the final publication of the notice and to the exhibition of the boundary marking plan.
