Lalín announces 95,000 euros in sports grants for 2026

The Lalín City Council opens the call for grants for sports activities for the 2026 financial year, with a total budget of 95,000 euros. The extract of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 165, Friday, August 28, 2026, and is signed by the mayor, José Crespo Iglesias, dated August 25.

Amount and distribution
The credit allocated for the granting of these aids amounts to 95,000 euros, divided into two lines:
- Grassroots sports grants: 80,000.00 euros.
- Other sports grants: 15,000.00 euros.
The call is governed by the Regulatory Bases for aid to sports entities and clubs of the Lalín City Council, published in BOPPO number 160, August 21, 2026.
Who can apply
Legally constituted sports associations or clubs, as well as natural persons who have special relevance in the world of sports and who do not compete through clubs, may submit an application, provided they meet the requirements established in the bases.
Submission deadline
The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 calendar days, counted from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOPPO. The publication took place on August 28, 2026, therefore the period begins to be computed from August 29.
The publication of the extract complies with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, which regulates the publicity of public aid calls.
The call represents a significant boost for the local sports fabric of Lalín, by channeling almost the entire budget (80,000 euros) towards grassroots sports, which reinforces support for clubs and entities working with formative categories and the promotion of sports practice among the citizenry.
