Ladrillar auctions 4,900 steres of resin pine in the Riomalo Communal forest

The Ladrillar City Council has called for a tender by auction for the awarding of forestry harvesting Ayt-2610012 of public utility forest no. 8, known as Comunal Valle de Riomalo, for the sale of resin pine timber. The tender, approved by Plenary Agreement in the session of June 30, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0167, dated September 1, 2026, with reference CVE BOP-2026-4120.

The object of the contract is the harvesting of 4,900 steres of green standing timber of the resin pine species (Pinus pinaster Ait.) across 95 hectares, according to the plans and the Technical-Faculty Specifications. The base tender price amounts to 39,690 euros plus the corresponding VAT (21%), totaling 48,024.90 euros, according to the valuation carried out by the Technical Services of the General Directorate of Forestry Management and Fire Defense of the Junta de Extremadura.

Processing and procedure

The processing is ordinary and the award will be made by auction, with a single evaluation criterion: the best price. Economic offers will be submitted upwards, and cannot be lower than the base budget. The contract is classified as a private contract in accordance with Article 9 of Law 9/2017, of November 8, on Public Sector Contracts.

Submission of offers and guarantees

Proposals shall be submitted manually at the City Council, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., within a period of ten business days counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Contractor Profile and in the BOP of Cáceres. The non-use of electronic means is justified by the usual internet connection problems in the area.

Each bidder shall present two sealed envelopes:

• Envelope «A»: administrative documentation, with accreditation of legal personality and a responsible declaration of not being subject to any prohibition from contracting.
• Envelope «B»: economic proposal, with the offer for the asset.

Upon the signing of the contract, a guarantee of 5% of the award price will be mandatory to ensure the correct execution of the harvesting. The duration of the contract is set at 10 months, in accordance with the technical-faculty specifications.

Sustainable forest management

The Comunal Valle de Riomalo forest holds a Sustainable Forest Management certificate granted on October 20, 2014, under number PEFC/14-23-00019, which guarantees the responsible forest management of the forest of origin. Products originating from this forest are, therefore, 100% PEFC certified, and the successful bidder must comply with current regulations regarding sustainable forest management.

The Contracting Board, chaired by a member of the Corporation, will evaluate the bids and propose the successful bidder. The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Santiago Domínguez Roncero, dated August 25, 2026.

Relevance for the region

This auction represents an opportunity for forestry and timber companies in the Las Hurdes region, which may opt for the certified harvesting of resin pine in a public forest. The award, which must be granted within a maximum period of fifteen days from the opening of proposals, will also generate income for the municipality of Ladrillar and guarantee the sustainable management of its forests.
