The UVa announces five Permanent Labor Professor positions for Ramón y Cajal researchers

The Rectorate of the University of Valladolid has announced, by resolution dated September 7, 2026, the selective tests for access to the status of Permanent Labor Faculty I3/R3, under a public competition regime. The call, identified as 2026/D/LL/ACLF/3, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 177, dated September 11, 2026, pages 19 to 37, with official reference BOCYL-D-11092026-177-6.

The five offered positions are reserved for doctoral research personnel who have completed the Ramón y Cajal Program and obtained the R3/I3 certificate, within the framework of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU) and Decree 67/2013, which regulates the regime of teaching and research staff hired in the public universities of Castilla y León. The call is part of the execution of the Public Employment Offers of 2023 (2 positions), 2024 (1 position), and 2025 (2 positions), with the authorizations of the Ministry of Education of the Regional Government of Castilla y León.

Positions and destinations

The contracts will be full-time, with a weekly schedule of 8 hours, and the positions are distributed across five areas of knowledge:

• K006K01/RP17001 – Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Sciences (Valladolid).
• K008K39/RP17004 – Ecology, ETS of Agricultural Engineering (Palencia).
• K012K48/RP17001 – Civil Law, Faculty of Education and Social Work (Valladolid).
• K038K04/RP17005 – Medieval History, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (Valladolid).
• K071K30/RP17037 – Telematics Engineering, ETS of Telecommunications Engineers (Valladolid).

Requirements and applications

Applicants must hold a Doctorate degree, prove R3/I3 recognition, and have a positive evaluation from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) or the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Castilla y León. Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically through the Electronic Office of the University of Valladolid, within a period of 20 business days from publication, paying 40 euros as examination fees.

Selection process

The competition consists of two eliminatory tests: the presentation and defense of the professional record and the teaching and research project, and the presentation of a topic from the program, followed by a debate with the commission. The process may not exceed six months, excluding the month of August, and those selected will undergo a six-month probationary period before acquiring the status of permanent labor personnel. The resolution, signed by the rector María Pilar Garcés García, exhausts the administrative route.
