Por FactBox Admin

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) has announced an open competition for access to university teaching bodies to fill positions for tenure-track university professors, by means of the Resolution of July 13, 2026, from the rectorate. The call, identified as CN2/26 (2026/D/FC/FC/AC/1), is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana number 10432, of August 19, 2026 (official reference DOGV-C-2026-25768).
The resolution, signed by the rector José Esteban Capilla Romá, is based on the public employment offer for teaching and research staff for 2026, approved by resolution on July 10, 2026, and on Article 71 of the Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU). The process is further governed by Royal Decree 678/2023, of July 18, which regulates state accreditation and the regime of access competitions for teaching bodies, and by the Statutes of the UPV, approved by Decree 122/2024, of September 24, of the Consell.

Industrial, the E.T.S.I. of Informatics, the E.P.S. of Alcoy, and the E.P.S. of Gandía. The positions and their selection committees are detailed in Annex I of the call.

Participation fees amount to 31.10 euros for each position applied for.
Exemptions are provided for members of large families or single-parent families of a special category, victims of violence against women, persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, and persons in a situation of social exclusion. Members of large or single-parent families of a general category enjoy a 50% discount on the fee.
Selection and Evaluation
Each competition will be judged by a commission of five members appointed by the rector, of whom a maximum of two may belong to the UPV faculty; the remainder shall be external members, chosen by public lottery. The test will consist of an oral presentation, in a public session, of the merits, academic, teaching, and research history, and the teaching and research project, followed by a debate before the commission.
The assessment of merits is distributed as follows:
- Research: 45%.
- University teaching: 45%.
- Other merits: 10%.
The commission will make a reasoned and binding appointment proposal, and the rector will appoint the proposed person within a maximum period of thirty business days from the publication of the proposal. The appointment will be published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado and in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana, and the appointed person must take office within a maximum period of twenty business days.
The call represents a significant opportunity for accredited doctors aspiring to a civil service position as a tenured professor at one of the main polytechnic universities in Spain, in a process that guarantees the principles of merit, capacity, and equal opportunity between women and men.
